My G8x sketch

Hello!

I'm new to the forum as a member, but was visiting the forum for many years, and the reason I joined was this generation of the M3/M4 and the stir it makes!

Long story short, BMW M3/M4 is my favorite car and I made the sketch of the new M4 based on available spy shots and I tried to make the proportions right.
I didn't have the time to do the 3D effects using the the light and shadows and that is the reason this is more of an technical drawing, hence the f80 M4 blueprint for comparison.

[IMG][/IMG]

I hope this would ease the pain for some hard core members and fans, and if I find the time, I will do it with the 3D effects!
In my humble opinion, the car will have the presence no other M3/M4 had before, and I'm pretty sure the car will look 100 times better in person compared to this terrible spy shot

*tinfoil hat on* with the forum up in arms over this distorted leaked picture, you (a new member) come in with a fantastic sketch, with many details like the spines on the CF roof, of what the car should look like with proper perspective etc. to calm folks back down... Do you work for BMW?? *tinfoil hat off*

Either way, that sketch looks great! Would love to see your work with the 3D model and features.

Wasn’t just me that assumed that then! Seems very odd for a new poster to come in and nail a sketch like that.

Anyways.... sketch looks a lot nicer than the leaks so far.... so let’s see a proper shot of the car!!!

Maybe BMW should make it out of paper.

Well done sketch, I feel like this captures real proportions and perspective better than even the 3D full color renders which are still a bit skewed

Seems so easy to go with a new modern grille (appropriately sized) with a body colored panel below for mounting a plate, then air-venting below. Keeps the modern look, but makes the grilles more proportional.

Yup, it seems the large grill design is purely for aesthetic purposes. I made a similar sketch in the leaked 4er thread

This is actually my second drawing of the car (I am the professor of art), and the first drawing I did was the sketch of the current 5 series that I have posted on German car forum, but I have done it 6 months before the official reveal and as it happens it was almost 99% accurate (I have a gift of good visualization, I don't work for the BMW or have the access to latest BMW models ).

Anyway, the latest render is very similar to my drawing, but I think that the grill is too big and somewhat inaccurate in shape and the lights are based on 8 series lights.

Other than that I think the new BMW M4 will look very similar!

Thank you for your drawing. I would love to see it completed. I agree with your criticisms of the rendering I think your finished drawing would be a more accurate representation of the car.

Awesome work! Could you share a link to the 5 series sketch/print you mentioned? Thank you.

Awesome job drawing the flared out sides of the mouth. Looks very accurate and tough to draw that perspective. Kinda looks like a patient post-wisdom teeth extraction, but we'll have to wait and see the final product lol.

I think you just about nailed it, very close to what we will see. Best so far. Can just intuitively tell. The renders tend to look a little bloated and just off, yours looks very much like what we would expect from a production car.

I think I finally got the real deal of the new front end. In my opinion it looks awesome and I can't wait to get one.

Which color do you like the best?

Bmw43 and preregrine, you really nailed it with your sketches and renders. If I were to bet on a final outcome, mine would be here. The second round of your renders are much better bmw43 as you worked on what is going on in the license plate area.

Many previous renders ignored that area and just have a giant vacuum grille, which, technically is true, however, as seen in the leaked 4 series, there is a slight distinction in that area even without a plate bracket in that the grille is closed off there, creating a subtle horizontal visual cue. While seemingly minor, this creates a very different design visually. You guys have really nailed it, I think. And it is not a bad looking car.
