I can see that the M sport package is exactly the same styling as the M50. Then I will go with the eDrive 40 and get the extra range.

I am hoping the US configurator offers more choices, specifically, Shadowline. I don't think I can look at the bright blue and chrome trim everyday. There is no exterior color that doesn't look horrible right now. I did not see an MSport package available on that site. Where was it shown, please?

Agreed, Shadowline would be a must for me. Surprised they don't offer a blue exterior color

Better, but the grille and windows are still chrome surround.

Let's hope there is an MSport package not yet showing.

Interesting that when 20" wheels are selected in the M50, rear fender flares are included.

What a dreary color pallet, but that's what sells I guess. Also blue accents in the interior need to be deleted immediately, especially with the red, white, and cognac leather.

Edit - looks like M sport at least brings some excitement in blue and individual.

All these blue accents look a bit try hard and won't age well. There should be an option to delete all that, especially in the interior.

Zero impact with the blue design accents. We get it. It's electric.

Why would that day ever come with all the choices entering the market?

Oh! Well, that's a much larger issue. I thought you were just giving us your opinion of the i4, in particular.

Some folks still have a horse, but more as a hobby. I'm keeping my 2015 rear wheel drive, manual 2 Series indefinitely as my "toy" when this new electric family car arrives.

Wishing all the pre-order folks well. The experience and practice BMW has on your cars will make ours higher quality 6 months+ later!

Almost every EV entering the market is a damned crossover. Most of the few EV sedan/coupes out there have incoherent designs full of useless angles and faux trim. I always been attracted to German car by their (historically) understated, timeless and elegant design. Monstrosities like the iX will age like everything that came out of the '80s.

The only attractive EVs to my eyes are the Taycan and its Audi sibling - both are way more expensive than the i4 and out of my budget. The Teslas are not repulsive, but I dont find them particularly attractive either. So if I had to buy an EV tomorrow, the i4 would be the only option I would be remotely interested in buying. Not that I want one.

I would be all over EVs if I weren't an enthusiast, but there's no denying that they leave something to be desired from a driving engagement standpoint. Your sense of sound, touch, and smell are all eliminated.

Until somebody launches an EV that is a proper driver's car I won't be interested. And no the Taycan doesn't count, it still weighs as much as a yacht and competes more in the realm of 8-series/A7 type of sedans. The 911 is cheaper and a far better driver's car.

$69.9k is insanely expensive for the very nicely done base car notably larger than the i4 with much greater range? If it were a liftgate instead of a trunk, I'd be there.

I thought from the spy shots that it was a liftgate/hatch? Skip to 46 sec
