i4 and i4 M50 Available for pre-order on BMW USA
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com More info published here as well: https://www.bmwusa.com/future-vehicl...c-vehicle.html Frequently Asked Questions What is the BMW i4 pre-order? The pre-order secures your place in line to submit a vehicle purchase order. When we reach your place in line, you will be contacted by your selected dealer to configure your i4 and submit your purchase order. This is expected to occur in fall 2021, a few months before your vehicle's production date. Is the pre-order fee refundable? Yes, the pre-order fee of $1,500 is fully refundable. If you wish to cancel your pre-order, please contact your selected BMW Center and provide your pre-order Confirmation Number provided in the Confirmation email you received. How do I pre-order a BMW i4? You can place your pre-order through the BMW online Shop in 3 easy steps: 1. Choose your dealer 2. Choose your i4 model variant (i4 eDrive40 or i4 M50) and place it in your shopping cart. 3. Select your preferred method of payment and check out. You will receive a confirmation email with your Confirmation Number and your selected BMW Center will contact you this upcoming fall 2021 to configure your vehicle and provide more information about delivery time. When will I receive my i4? Deliveries of the i4 start in March of 2022. Delivery times may vary depending on when your pre-order was placed as well as when your vehicle is configured by your selected BMW Center, in the Fall of 2021. Your configuration, trim, and option selections will influence the delivery time of your vehicle. Your BMW Center will provide delivery updates throughout the process. Which incentives does the i4 qualify for (in the US)? Owning the First-Ever BMW i4 may qualify you for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500, in addition to other state incentives such as rebates, tax credits, and grants. The 2022 BMW i4 has not yet been certified as credit eligible by the IRS. Additional state incentives may also be avaialble. Tax credits may be complex and are subject to change without notice. While BMW of North America, LLC does its best to keep this information up-to-date, it cannot guarantee the current accuracy of your eligibility. We recommend consulting a tax professional to validate credit availability and eligibility.

Dead on arrival with these specs and pricing. Not to mention the horrid styling decision. Really BMW...really? Massive lease incentives will be the only way to move units in US market.

Right at Tesla pricing and looks so much better plus I am sure build quality will be much better. So it's launch isn't as fast. 3.7 seconds is plenty fast for those who would rather have the nicer vehicle in every other measure. People aren't buying these for the track, that's what the M3/4 is for. |

Good god that is ugly. I would rather spend the 55K on Model 3 Performance if I went electric.

Still $5k more for a slower car with significantly less range. Also looking more likely each day those EV rebates are coming back for all brands.

240 miles vs 315 miles The styling is a fail and the specs are a fail. Plus Tesla supercharging network is worth its weight in gold. |

Seriously...BMW shot themselves in the foot. The specs are not anywhere near class leading. So what do they do, make all the EV's have ugly pig noses. What were they thinking? At least make them attractive, to get people in the showroom to look at them. Audi is actually doing EV's much better than BMW right now. Do they beat Tesla no, but they do at least look good.

1. Lost their way 2. Execute styling that no one likes because your cult speaks for everyone 3. Everyone else makes better EVs then BMW 4. If not everyone thinks and have opinions like your cult then they are less worthy. We get it your cult doesn't like the new styling. But at least leave this sections of the forums where the new series are present, and if you aint gonna buy the new cars coming from BMW, and Audi and Porches does cars that suit you more then go to their forums please. BMW has also heard your comments and it has been stated before let the sales number talk if they tank they will have learned their lessons and re do the design, if they are a success then that settles it then.

You don't like this car? Go and whine in the General BMW forum, but leave this sub-forum alone. You can buy a Tesla since you like their SC network - for me, I would not buy a Tesla because they don't and will never have CarPlay. Yep, that's the deal breaker for me. |

Tried the online configurator for color options: BMW USA, BMW UK and BMW Canada all seem to contain the same color options.
For the i4 M50, none of the colors appeal to me.... and the color I want ("Arctic Racing Blue" that looks so nice on the M440i) is nowhere to be found. Does this mean I am out of luck? Or will I be able to somehow custom configure a color for the M50? |

2. Wait for the real world tests, the EPA numbers sometimes are hard to reproduce in reality. Remember the Car and driver test of the model S and the taycan? EPA Taycan: 192mi EPA Tesla model s performance: 348mi. Tested ranges: Taycan 209 mi, Model S: 222mi See it here: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...tesla-model-s/ In Germany / Europe the Model 3 Performance has a claimed range of 530km. The i4 M50 has 510 - not that far away imo. 3. Build quality. I don't think that this will improve by much in the Tesla model 3. At the end of the day you get what you pay for - the Model 3 is fine considering the price. BMW or any other premium car maker never defined themselves by offering low priced car's. I remember how everyone complained about the price of the Taycan - now you wait one year for your order. Now let's leave this Thread for those that are really about to preorder the i4. I am curious if they approach the same strategy as in the ix3 and give you a pretty loaded car with only a few options to choose from.

Before you do that, take a look at this:
And the other tests he performed, just in case of that you haven't seen what's like in real life.

I suggest waiting for a look at the Genesis G70 and GV70 electric vehicles. That brand is on a roll with great product.

And to post about charging stations and repairs... neither will be a problem, especially in the long run as networks grow and dealer technicians are trained, the same as every other EV brand out there. |

That range in the cold is ok with me. I'm expecting about 200mi in below freezing temps. I don't expect the i4 to be any better.

Although I personally like this i4 a lot (except its excessive weight maybe), I'am particularly interested to understand the motivation of the sceptics. It helps to avoid blind spots with a more 360° comprehension of the value proposal. |
