Back in a BM
Having been in BMs since 1996, I went away for 3 years, but a couple of weeks ago I picked up a 6 month old G21 M340i in Dravit Grey.
Having downsized from an e61 535d that I had for 8 years (i like to keep my cars for a long time), to a Golf 7.5R Estate, I realised it was too much of a downsizing. I also didn't find it very comfortable, but it did have other appeals (esp quad tips that the boy in me found appealing). If I am honest, I always regretted getting rid of the 535d as it was stupendously comfortable, had a great engine and still looks really good today. |

As a used buyer, have to make compromises between price and spec etc.Below is a copy from what the dealer sent (so I know some are included in the packs and/or standard). Got everything I need. Not a great fan of comfort access, as I always worry whether the thing has locked properly and hate it on the Mrs's car. The one thing that I might have specced is adaptive cruise, but on the old car, I think I used very rarely and got annoyed with it slowing down (when not in outside lane and coming up behind someone) and wished for non-adaptive cruise. I think that it is possible to retro fit it, but not fussed to be honest.
Additional storage electric seats front lumbar gesture control shadowline pan roof sun protection glass adaptive suspension harman kardon heads up wifi hotspot Premium pack Technology pack and M performance brakes, which I think is an option. Not always so - the one I bought seems to have come with literally every option available and yet was priced lower than most of the cars on the central BMW UK approved used site 😂

I know I shouldn't be, but I'm pretty impressed with the fuel efficiency of the G21 M340i. Not a reason I bought mine, but nice to know that normal driving (ie pushing on a wee bit - but not going to incriminate myself) that it can return decent mpg without trying to "hypermile".
Did a 150 miler today, half on m'way and the rest mainly on A roads. 2:38 min 55.6 mph 36.8 mpg
