m340i/d M seats

Hi,

Anyone know how you spec the M seats (high back) on the M340i/d?

TIA!

You need to spec the comfort plus pack then the seats are around £900 on top of that pack.

Thanks AB55! Makes sense.... and found them tucked away in the view all optional equipment on the configurator.

How do they match up against the standard seats, are they much more supportive, comfortable? Certainly look the part!

Given that a wooden post with a rusty nail in it would be considerably more comfortable than the standard seats, it would not be possible for these not to be significantly more comfortable.

I'll let you know as I will be picking my car up this month. From what I have read, feedback on them is positive. IMO they complete the car.

Not sure they're more comfortable, I think it depends on your body shape and whether you spec lumbar support on the normal seats or not - but they are at a minimum as comfortable and have the potential for more adjustment.

They are definitely much more supportive though. And beautiful to look at.

^^ This.

The seat bases don't look any different to the standard seats, only the backs, so can't imagine there being any more comfort at all.

Could you be a bit more specific with regard to "body shape" and "more adjustment"? I like my seats to be comfortable and supportive with the emphasis on comfortable but am of a larger build so conflicted as to whether to go for these or spend the money on Merino leather?

That said, the M Performance seats definitely look the part.

I think it depends on your larger frame. I'm certainly not slender and find the seats very comfortable and very supportive, but if I was much bigger I think the support would cause the back and shoulder area to become too narrow, a bit like a bucket seat?
Ideally I'd suggest you sit in one before you order if you're unsure.

I was also torn between merino and the M seats - similar cost but mutually exclusive. You can't have both! No regrets over choosing the M seats over the merino leather in my case.

Can I get these as OEM aftermarket to put in a US spec M340i? If so, where?

I have these m seats in my M340i, and am currently 3 weeks into ownership.
I found in a test drive with the Std seats that they are very comfortable, but perhaps a little bit narrow for me and my frame. Not a deal breaker at all, just BMW Std sports seats which I have had for years with no problems.
The M seats were on the show room car I ended up buying so I got to sit in then before buying. They are much more comfortable again, for my frame. They start off wider, but adjust what feels like all over the place and with lumber support, it's feels like the whole back area moves on command to fit me like a glove. Truly one of the most comfortable sporty seat I've ever sat in.
Oh and did anyone mention that they look awesome too?

I've driven 16hrs non stop in my standard seats, never had a complaint

Looking at M Sport Seats for a potential replacement but cannot seem to spec full leather with them. Or even extended leather. Is that right?

That is correct, M Sport seats are only available in Black or Cognac Vernasca Leather.

It's bonkers that the 'premium' seats aren't available in Merino leather.

And in another bizzare twist on the configurator, Cognac Vernasca leather is now only available with M Sport seats, which also means Comfort plus package. So if you like Cognac, you need to spend £2770 on things you might not want.

I’d read that Cognac had been discontinued on US Build G20s for MY22... is the same going to happen here. It would be a pity if this was the case as it’s a great option on the 3 Series.

Hi verysideways are your Mseats Electric adjustment or manual ?

Just wondering as I have specified M seats and Comfort pack plus in my G21,
From my understanding you retain lumber and width adjustment in the passenger seat do you know if this is correct?

On a previous configuration I did with standard seats and Merino leather it deleted passenger width adjustment and lumber even with the Comfort plus package.

Beautiful car BTW saw first on YouTube when Joe Achilles reviewed it.

Regards Neil

Forgive me for answering but as you've posted in a public forum I feel duty bound to respond as I've spec'd exactly the same as you.

I can confirm that M seats are electric which includes lumbar support adjustment as well as latteral width adjustment.

Hope this helps.
