Really isn't anything they can do and this is affecting all car manufactures. All they can do is offer discounts on those items no longer offered. The customer can always cancel the order and wait until all options are available again.

Not sure if you understood my point, I was referring to BMW needing to do better in keeping the customer updated rather than leaving them unsure of what exactly they are buying and how much it will cost.

Manufacturing issues is one thing, customer service is another.

After reading your comments I got worried what was missing on my new car. This is the reply I got from my BMW sales guy:

"If you only knew how happy I am that I had this feeling when the component shortage erupted. Had I ordered your car today, it would have been built with half of the options you chose. But luckily I had this on my mind, and put the car in for production earlier, even though you are not going to pick it up yet. So the car is already built, with all your desired options 😊"

Or, in other words, we managed to find one of similar spec that was built ages ago and been sat in a muddy field for 6 months.

Just received two e-mails re build status …the car has entered the paint shop and the car is fully assembled.

Not long now, I hope, until I know for sure what options are on the car!

Slightly off topic but I've just been on the bmw configurator and previously on the 330i m sport the metallic paint was part of the price but now its an additional £695.. blimey!!

Update: just received an e-Mail update today telling me that the car has left production after final testing and has commenced its journey to the UK. Not long now to discover what’s on the car!

Anyone know the timeline once production has completed?

Normally 5 days to build, 2 weeks to ship then a few days with the dealer.
