Touch up paint

So for whatever reason best known to BMW they don’t do a paint touch up stick for Arctic Race Blue ….. bizarre! So I’ve been trawling the infernalnet and found a couple of aftermarket suppliers. Wondering if anyone has used aftermarket suppliers and any recommendations as to which ones are the best regarding quality and especially colour match?

I’ve used Chipex for years.
It takes a little practice to get the hang of it, but you
can't make a mistake with it.
A clever product.

I recently bought their Mineral White kit which is a 2 layer kit. It's not the easiest to apply and contacted them for advice, suggesting using a cocktail stick to apply minute amounts. It's not perfect, but way better than touch-up sticks of old.

Paint chips suck. Official?
I got a small one on the my bonnet on the sunday, after picking up Friday evening, spending all Saturday preparing and cleaning and sealing the paint.
Did not even hear it go.

Touch up paint is never invisible, but better than leaving it, esp with mineral white which has a dark undercoat...

The 1st rule of owning a new car is you’ll get a stone chip early on.

I’ve done less than 1,000 miles and picked up one on the front of the bonnet. The Chipex kit says Mineral White is pearlescent and comes with a metallic base coat and a pearlescent too coat.

I've always been a fan of Chipex, but just looked at their website and although they offer Tanzanite, they don't have Tanzanite II. They are slightly different, but I wonder whether that would show on a chip repair.

Have you checked your code on the door pillar as there are 4 Tanzanite colours on the site - WC3Z, C3Z, X10 and WX10.
Thankfully Black Sapphire Pearl there is only 1 option - 475, which is a fantastic match.

Thanks - just cost me some more cash, plus some detailer at the same time. Still, it was a welcome prompt to ‘paint up’!

Plus.
BMW paint is as soft as any I've known. I do not recall getting anything like as many chips with previous Alfa, fiat or Ford's...
