yellow laser DRL?

I found these on bayoptiks, anyone try these out yet?

If so how are they and is the install the same as they are on the g80?

You should have a look at ICEDRIVER on AliExpress, because that´s the manufacturer of these modules and you don´t pay a markup.
https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005001329013245.html

And the installation isn´t as easy as for the G80 series!
The LED boards are glued to the heatsinks and you need to switch them.
And you need to remove the headlights and loosen the front bumper to get to the last screw for the outer DRL/turn signal module.
I wanted to have the original modules untouched so i bought a second set of modules.
You can use the modules of the adaptive LED instead of the Laser headlights, because the heatsinks are identical and the modules are cheaper.
2 x inner DRL: 63118496134 / 63119477985 (X5 EPX-BM-092)
Left outer DRL/turn signal: 63118737143
Right outer DRL/turn signal: 63118737144
You can also use the inner modules of the X5 series, the heatsink is identical.

With the new modules you get a small portion of thermal glue.
To remove the old boards you can use a heat gun and then carefully remove the old boards.
Use a thin layer of the new thermal glue and spread it over the new board.
For the inner DRL boards you need to align them properly because the boards have bigger sized holes.

Thanks for all the detailed info I appreciate that!

It definitely sounds harder than how it’s done for g80 which I was hoping it wouldn’t be haha.

How much would you say it costed after buying the extra modules, tools and everything together?

Also, did you have a video you referenced while you did your install or your experienced with all this stuff?

Thanks again!

160 EUR for the yellow boards.
160 EUR for the outer DRL/turn signal modules.
110 EUR for the inner DRL modules.

I researched all this by myself because all videos out there only described the G80.

4 series is a walk in the park while 3 series is a nightmare.
I don´t understand why BMW had to make the outer DRLs so hard to replace.

Hello everyone, i have a 2020 330xi with aftermarket laser lights. I’m wondering if anyone can help me out with my problem. I’ve been trying to find yellow drl’s that works with my headlights. My light chips aren’t the regular oem laser light style chips, it’s the LED style chip. Ik doesn’t make any sense right lol but i’ve been struggling trying to find working LED chips for my laser lights. I’ve tried regular LED yellow drl and the chip wasn’t strong enough. It looked like the last picture i added in this forum. If anyone knows any drl that will work for my headlights and could kindly link them, that’d be greatly appreciated

I have a 2022 M440 and the unit that needs to come out from behind the wheel well has almost no access to the top screw. Is there a tool anyone has used, and can send me a link to, that you used for this area? The area looks to have less than 3/4" between the screw head and the metal bracing in the car. It's like I need a thin tool with a 20 Torx head that is 1/4" deep

As a follow up, I purchased a tool that is the head of the Torx 20 on a thin bar so the total 'height' is maybe 1/4" and it fits enough to allow me to take the screw out.

However, the metal casing won't clear the body bracing. Has anyone replaced their 2022 M440 DRLs and if so how? The ones accessed from the wheel wells seem unreasonably complicated to remove.

It was the same on my 2023 G21.
I loosened the frontbumper and the headlights, then i could rotate the headlights enough to loosen the screw.

I eventually got the part out using this small Torx 20 tool but it sucked. And I broke the white DRL on one of the sides when I pulled the first one out. But I like the look with the green
