Was just wondering today if they'd be coming out w a tune for the M340i soon!
My dealership is a Dinan certified installer so I'd feel more comfortable going this route since they have a guy there who does all the Dinan work and any warranty claims compared to sending in my ECU somewhere else

Mind you love me some Dinan (even if they are now owned by Holley) - I run their springs on my M340 and visited Dinan for the first time in 1987 for mods with my Dad (long good story) that aside if traditionally conservative Dinan is hitting 500 wheel with a simple flash (or piggyback) and full E85 I am thrilled. I am presently at a very safe and reliable about 470 wheel on my M340 with catted DP, Mission Performance Tune and E30. Looking forward to more info - but me thinks there is more to this story |

All they need to do is remote tune via obd port and it's game over, even if you need to go to dinan dealer it would be way better than mailing your ecu. I'm really looking forward to this.

When I called in July they told me I would have to mail them my ECU to get the flash tune even though the closest BMW dealer was a Dinan dealer. Maybe things changed since then.

spoke to someone at Dinan on pricing and this is what they said: "No official pricing has been dictated but for the E85 tune it should be in thee same realm as thee competition (BM3/MHD) so in the $500-800 range somewhere. A fatory matching warrantied version of a tune would be limited to 91/93 octane and be a fair amont more however."

Yeah but did they clarify if it was software locked or hard locked like the new ecu's are? I mean either way there are a lot of dinan dealers out there so way easier to get tuned

Flash, but anything after that they can not work with unless unlocked....meaning they are in the same boat as all the other tuners after the latest updates. What I’m trying to say is they don’t have the magic key to flashing newer/updated DMEs without bench unlocking. |
