Mimicking the Map logic of pre-2020 ecus
i love the burbles and pops and bangs of the pre 20's-21's ecus especially at below 3k rpms. since i would like to upgrade in the future to a 2022, and when finally the ECU gets cracked...its it possible to "copy" the overrun factory maps and have them encoded to the new ecu flash logic?
sux that BMW had to do this, as the factory mapping for the bubrble's were vicious on the pre 21's or 20's. I like the factory map of the overruns, they have a nice sequence and doesn't sound artificial |

i dont think you would be able to have access to BMWs factory maps? unless you got like an inside guy who would leak that to you but i highly doubt it
or idk if tuners can save maps or not im just guessing here

The aftermarket tuners are able to restore pops and burbles when you flash the car if you do a tune. I think most charge a small ($50) fee on top of the flash to install for you when writing everything into your DME.

Speaking from first hand knowledge, the primary difference inside the DME is that the 2021 M340i targets lambda 1.0 under full load. The artificial “burble” is present in both but more pronounced in earlier models since it runs richer.

Didn't that happen at previous MY's when cat temp was still low to speed up the heating? I saw that logic in my M240i.
