Check engine light
My check engine light just turned on. Engine oil level ok. No strange noises, no leaks, car still runs strong. What could it possibly be ?
Currently have JB+ AA Catted downpipe (which shouldn't cause a CEL) And Dinan exhaust |

I had the check engine light come on a couple weeks back, Vehicle performance was unaffected, and nothing on the dash or touchscreen gave any additional information on what it could be. The code description when i ran it using bimmerlink showed Crankcase ventilation system: leakage detected. Took it to BMW and they looked for a leaking gasket or seal and found nothing and cleared the code, hasn't come back since. |

Full access to the app is a one time fee of around 30$. I can help you if we're still meeting up in the coming week to check out that dinan exhaust... or you can just text/message me and I'll try to walk you through it |

I guarantee you it's from the AA catted downpipe. It's a higher flowing downpipe which easily could cause a cel. Shouldn't be anything major.

Run the code first before you get too concerned about warranty but in short, if the issue is caused by the aftermarket part then bmw won't cover the repair.
I was also worried when this happened to me, because most people attribute check engine light to downpipe because that's what they're familiar with on other models. Unlikely it's your AA dp, but only way to find out is to check the code. |

You do a modification to exhaust which is connected to engine, and your car is prolly remmaped in the world of BMW you dont have warranty on your engine and gearbox anymore. Thats why I'm not tunning my m340 .

If they Guarantee no CEL do you get your money back ?
saved myself $350 bucks going with this catted pipe and no CEL, but i have a small J-style spacer. 2k miles plus and no CEL https://www.logosengineeringmotorwor...ra-2020-z4-g29 |

Kind of. I'm guessing it was related to my downpipe. I removed the JB+ ran it with no issues. After some time it came back on and went away on its own. No performance change so I'm guessing it wasn't anything alarming

My check engine light just came on. I have the Racechip gts black. I have nothing popping up on dash or on screen. Just the light. Did you put back the jb or no. Wondering if I should disconnect it

It's interesting actually. I had both of them paired at the same time. Removed JB and about two weeks later CEL came back on with DP only. So I figured I'd just throw it back on. It's random. I currently have JB and downpipe and it will throw a cel randomly then come off
