I'm replacing the X3. I like the X3 and it is very practical, but I decided it wasn't a keeper. To be honest, the original plan was trading both the Z4 and X3 and just having one fun vehicle. I hated having my 'fun' car garage parked for the winter. So I looked at a 2021 M5C, but the trade in value I was offered for the Z4 was considerably less than I was expecting. It was probably wishful thinking of getting an M5C, but at least I got to test drive one! I also test drove an M550I, but low residual values scared me away from that. I test drove an M340I and really liked it. But, I kept thinking why have another car when I already have one? Almost every 340I my dealer has been getting since last year has not had adaptive suspension. I know enough from my Z4 and X3 that it's definitely something I do want. Last week they told me they were getting some in that did have it and it just happened to be the Performance Edition versions. The black one might be here tuesday so I will test drive that one. The Nardo Gray will be a few weeks yet. Rob |

It looks quite good in pics but i don't know how I'd go living with it on a daily basis.
It kinda screams Smurf to me! So I'd say nay |

From my experience the Fjord Blue is not as light as I see it here on my laptop in the 2nd pic & sure as hell not as dark as the first.
Would I get it? Yes. |

Taste is a very personal matter. What is gorgeous to one person is hideous to another. I think that forums like this can be very helpful to car owners and I know that I have benefitted from it. But I question whether there is any benefit to asking a bunch of others what color combinations they think look nice.

If this car has all of the other features you want in it then I would go for it. Not a huge fan of it, but I do not dislike it as it looks sporty and unique.
Would I handpick this specific interior over the other available choices? No Would I take this interior if the car has all of the features I want? Yes |

I was one step away from ordering Fjord Blue. I was looking for something making my car less common. Finally I decided there is too much blue in the rear:
and went with black + blue stiching. Back then (it was over a year ago) I couldn't find any real photos of Fjord Blue. It was later I found real photos of that color and I got extremely happy I didn't go for it. It seems so light and nothing like in the catalog. Different strokes for different folks. Adaptive cruise control has worked great for me in my current and former BMW and along with the HUD is one of my essential features for any purchase. For me it takes much of the stress out of driving.

I love the HUD and never look at the actual speedometer dial on the left. I'm perfectly fine with how the rpm dial is too. Rob |

For the record, I got my Nardo Grey M340I last month. The blue interior is darker than many of the pictures shown previously in this thread which leads me to think those might not be fjorde blue. To be honest, I don't even really notice the blue at all. It blends really well will the surrounding black trim.
Here's some pictures after ceramic coating was applied. Those are 18 inch bmw replica rims and winter tires. The stock 20's will need another week or 2 before going on. There could be snow or ice on the roads this thursday. |
