I always find it interesting that the M340 is compared to the RS3. The RS3 is smaller, lighter, and has more power (IIRC). Not to mention full RS vs M-lite. If the M2 was AWD...rip RS3. Although, IMO the RS3 looks substantially better than the new M2.

The tunability of the rs3 is bonkers. I wish we had the hatch here, I'd consider it.

Just diff classes of cars. Not really comparable. M2 far better comparison even with two less doors. Back seat in both is basically non existent vs a 3 series where at least somewhat existent. If they made an rs3 where you could send all power/torque to rear wheels, now that would be fun.

Lol, the M2 weighs 3800lbs and it's RWD... Imagine if it was AWD, it'd be a fat pig. RIP M2! haha

I don't see the appeal of an RS3 but then again I am not a fan of AWD nor Audi cars in general except for aesthetics on a few of them.

I meant rip RS3 as in the M2 would put a big hurt on the RS being able to put all the power down even if it was a bit heavier because of it. There's a reason why the smaller RS3 is compared to the M340 power & 1/4 mile time-wise and cost of course.

Rs3 did ring in nearly same time as f80 m3 cs and faster than prior gen m2 cs. It’s very fast. |

Sporty and fun is quantified differently by each person. You can certainly have fun an RS3 and have fun in an M2...pick your poison.

That's silly. I guess an M3 is a 330i as well? I wouldn't compare an RS3 to an M340i either, only because they aren't the same class of car. I can see how some might, based on price, power, and ability.

I test drove both and, while the experience was a lot more fun/engaging with the rs3 (with that amazing sounding 5cyl), it’s backseats and trunk were effectively useless for a 4 door sedan
