Diagnostic scan tool
I’m looking for a scan tool to help me read codes and clear them when needed. Can anybody suggest something decent that is not too expensive?

Bimmerlink + compatible OBD2 reader is probably your best bet.
They also just added the ability to do Car Play using a wi-fi OBD2 adaptor. |

I have bimmerlink and a veepeak bluetooth adapter. It connects but is very limited on functionality. I also tried an enet cable and adapter for my iphone. It would not let me clear codes either. An I also have a cheap scan tool that does not do much on this car. I thought maybe they locked the ecu so well I couldn't reset codes. I'll try bimmerlink again.

I got bimmerlink working with the enet cable and was able to scan and clear the codes.
