2023 M340i LCI Missing Drive Record & Other Apps
I just made the purchase on the 2023 M340i LCI (US Edition), but I can't figure out how to activate my Drive Recording even though I have paid for that option when ordering my car. Usually there is an app on the iDrive 8 screen, but it's not there! I have also activated the subscription service for the drive recorder through the BMW website. And yes, currently running the latest software and have updated through the system.
I also noticed when watching Youtube videos, there seems to be a lot of apps that are missing when comparing to other users. Like, there is no native Spotify app, Connected Drive Store, Parkmobile, Traffic Camera, etc. (See picture attachment). Also, did they get rid of Miracast (screen mirroring) for Android? So far I'm noticing there are definitely a lot of corners being cut unfortunately since I came from the 2020 M340i. UPDATE EDIT: Issue has been fixed. Took it back to my service department. At first they tried to restart my head units, but issue persisted. The service advisor then played around and deleted my BMW profile login from the vehicle and had me reconnect my profile to the vehicle. And then the apps started to appear. Hey man, you should have a driver recorder button near your parking assist feature near the gear selector... hold that down and it should activate.

I've done it. The button literally does nothing even when holding it down. I had an 2020 M340i that works. It's suppose to record 30 seconds before and after. I'm starting to wonder if the technician missed something in the PDI.

Are you positive you have drive recorder? If you PM me your VIN number I will double check for you. The app should be installed from factory and would not be something done by the tech during the PDI.
