Maps 2023-4 now on the download manager

In a way I'm pleased you've posted that! I've just updated my iMac to the latest operating system and checked the BMW Download and it's now saying the same that the map update is 2023-3....what a load of bollocks this system is!

Car is showing 2023-4 update and seems to be working but haven't tried a destination yet.

I can only guess that the 2023-4 update has been pulled as a few minor bugs have been reported and they will put the 2023-4 update back up when they are sorted. But yup, never saw anything like this BS on the Skoda website when map updates became available. I'd expect better from a premium brand.

Downloaded and installed latest version (2023-4) at the weekend (idrive 7). Navigated to North Wales and back (400+ miles) no problem.

I had a chat to a BMW genius today regarding Download Manager showing 2023-4 then reverting to 2023-3 asking if there was a problem with 2023-4, she said looks most likely a technical problem and said I should contact Connected Drive. Sent e-mail awaiting a reply.

I logged out of everything on my connected drive account and then logged back in again and it gave me the 2023-4 update.

I also deleted the download of the BMW Map manager and then re-installed it again and it's worked fine.

Just a thought if you haven't already tried that?

Thanks, I take it you mean in the ID7, rather than in my browser? That I have not tried yet.

Cant even sign into new Download Manager at present with my connected sign in, old one ok but still showing 2023-3. Still no reply from my e-mail to connected drive regarding reversal of maps back to 2023-3.

No mate, logged out of everything on my iMac so the system was cleared. I then actually updated the software to the latest Mac OS anyway but wanted to start over again with the BMW Download Manager software and it offered me 2023-4 to install.

I've just signed in to my connected drive account and that's worked fine but on manual map update it tells me 2023-3 is installed on my car...no it isn't!...I installed 2023-4 several days ago when it was offered to me and my idrive shows that is what is installed!

As you may remember, I got the main dealer I bought my car from to update the ID7 software to the latest available before I took delivery of the car.

2023/7.40 I think it is. The MyBMW app stated the older version for over a month before it finally updated the info all by itself as I have not updated the app or anything.

I wrongly assumed that Map updates would be a part of the whole ID7 software update, so you'd get whatever map update was current at the time of the ID7 software update but, nope!!

My car, a March 21 plate actually has the original map version the car must have been built with. I'd need to go check the version again, but it's from 2020 !

That means you've had OTA updates in car to the UK and Irish bits but the rest of Europe hasn't been updated. You'd do that via a full download manager update.

Don't think so my understanding that the OTA updates are applicable to the country of registration of the vehicle.

So...The question is now... Do I wait till 2023-4 is actually available, or take the 2023 update I have downloaded to a pen drive, and make do with that for now. Bearing in mind that I'm only commuting back and forth to work ATM, a 6 mile drive LOL, and I could drive that route in my sleep. In fact I think I did, and ran into the back of a long trailer LOL!
