Please let me know know if you get a confirmed production # spec'd otherwise. I wanted a fully loaded M50 with Portimao on Tartufo Full Merino
My CA is well versed and he's first asking about them honoring my configuration with cognac.

If not, then individual. We have multiple examples here on the forum of individual leather and paint.

Mine was originally week 21, then changed to 23. Yesterday, my order went back to order received on My Garage. My sales manager says he has no other information. His system still says scheduled for production, but he is concerned it may be pushed back to July. Ugh

If I was terminally cynical, I'd think BMW NA was deliberately pushing back production to MY 2023 so they could pocket the price increase.

So they're paying their employees to sit around and not produce MY2022 cars? Wouldn't that cost them more? And commodity prices etc. just keep going up. So they would be paying more in future for raw materials.

I think it's cheaper and more profitable for BMW to get as many cars produced as early as possible. The longer they delay the more uncertain things are. It does make sense for them to redirect allocations to other more profitable markets than the US.

I said BMW NA, not BMW. They could still produce cars for other countries. And Europeans/Brits do seem to have an easier time taking delivery.

And to be fair, there's a month long backlog at the port. How many cars can they have parked waiting for a boat? That costs money too; they don't get paid until the car is delivered, not to mention renting huge parking lots.

From reading and living vicariously through many of the posts over the last few months here on the wild timing, process, calling the dealership or Genius, etc, I opted for the "ignorance is bliss" approach for my M50 order. Set a super low bar on my expectations to have a smaller chance of disappointment. Luckily though, my order just moved to "production begins" last Thur or Fri. Wouldn't be surprised if it moved back a step or two.

And now I'm in QC! This is so exciting!

Looks like it took about 6 weeks from Scheduled for Production to QC.

Yikes: Mine went from scheduled for production. 9/26, to "order received." It was so close to production start!

Once you cars is at production begins it should be good. It usually stays at production begins for 7-10 days and then will start progressing through the production steps. My m50 was at Production begins for 9 days and then went through all the other steps in 5 days. Currently waiting at the port to be shipped.

Just confirmed I lost my comfort access foot opening. Got something around $100 credit. I really wanted that feature.

You can retro fit the part yourself. I was told you can use same part from other models.

Cool In The Dark

I know that it has come off the production line, and that it's in transit, but no more! No boarding confirmation and no firm date for delivery. Obviously not alone.....https://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/i...ilies/sigh.gif

I would imagine there would be a staging at the port so that enough cars to fill a roro are ready to load. That likely takes time. There may also be multiple companies using the same roro. So who knows what that backlog looks like there

Painful waiting. I literally went into production a couple weeks after placing my order since I took a production number that someone backed out of... I don't know how u guys that pre ordered and had to wait over a year could be this patient. I am sorta sad I didn't get an M50 but put my bet on the sure thing.

you have time, mine has been sitting at the german port for a month, then the long journey across the ocean, then however long it sits at customs and in the american port.

mine moved from "at the port" to "in transit" again this morning, but I've been tracking the boats, and a boat wasn't supposed to leave until the 20th so I wonder if it's just getting moved around the port again?

I'm curious if ports are just going to become a longer holdup for everyone. The waits seem to be longer, but who knows nothing has been crystal clear so far .

After waiting at the port for almost 4 weeks, my car is finally in route to Baltimore. It seems the vessel carrying it is the HOEGH TRIDENT. The anxiety is killing me, lol.
