2022 M340xi is a Comfortable Cruiser!
I've been loving our 2022 M340xi since we got it in February, but hadn't driven it longer than 30 minutes at a time. Recently I drove from Raleigh, NC to Selinsgrove, PA (north of Harrisburg), about 7-8 hours each way with stops.
I was delightfully surprised at what a comfortable cruiser this car is: a comfortable, quiet trip with no numb butt or aching back. And with the lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise-control the car basically drove itself much of the way. Gas mileage was good too: 33-38 MPG at 75-80 MPH in Eco-pro.

I did a 2.5 or so hour trip to Pearl Jam concert last Tuesday in Oklahoma City and yeah, it really does cruise nicely. Pretty damn comfortable with adaptive suspension. I really expected less of it, and it proved me wrong. 33.3 mpg doing 85 on the highway was also great!

I’m very glad to read you are pleased with your car and enjoyed your trip in it. I’m a little sad to read you let your Ultimate Driving Machine drive itself most of the way in EcoPro mode.

I didn't spend $1700 on the Driving Assistance Pro package because I definitely want to be driving the car myself at all times. However, I understand using EcoPro on a highway trip (the only time it should be used IMO), especially if your route is mostly flat and straight. |

FFS, dude, it was a 7-hour drive on the interstate. WTF is the point of driving in sport mode when one is cruising at a steady speed for hours on end? On those occasions when I needed to maneuver or move quickly I certainly exited eco-pro.

To each their own. I remember the first car I had with cruise-control. It was a godsend on long trips. Adaptive cruise is a godsend+. Lane-keep assist is also great on a long, interstate highway trip: don't have to be gripping the wheel for hours on end.
