It was definitely worth waiting for. In addition to Eibach I was also eyeing KW HAS and MSS HAS kits. Was about to go with MSS but held off after reading about all the issues in the other thread. It’s not too late to make the switch!
Thanks for sharing your pictures, I may have to pull the trigger on the front lip.

It’s simple.
Parking blocks and curbs should be 6” high per code. If your lip is lower you risk damage.
I think you can do one or the other without a chance of damage. With both you need to be careful.

I just typed it in on Amazon. A couple pop up. Seems like a few people on here have tried it wirh fairly good results. 80% fitment, unnoticeable unless you bend down to look at it.

I’m going to wait to see how bad my G80 scrapes with the MP HAS at -20 up front and no lip. I’ve left my G83 stock, and it has been nice not to worry about it. But looking forward to that flush look.

So I recently installed the OEM HAS Perf kit. I lowered it about 15MM in the front and I have the m perf style lip installed.

Just close to 6” clearance (~5-1/2”), but it still has to settle and about an 1” gap in the front. I feel like this allows for a good balance because in IL, we have some crap/shit roads and I want a little bit of flexibility. I know eventually I’ll accidentally scrape the front lip, but it is what it is.

Mine lowered on H&R Super Sports with Lightweight Performance front lip. I’ve been driving lowered cars for 20-years so I’m accustomed to entering inclines from an angle to avoid scraping. You do have to pay attention though…the cost/benefit works for me, but I wouldn’t suggest to everyone.

Wow that’s low. What’s the drop up front? Any strut issues?

1.4” front and .8 rear. No strut issues, but I wouldn’t this early anyway. I knew I’d have to take sharp inclines at an angle, but so far so good.

I’ve had to also go over in this manner due to traffic on both sides and not enough time or space to dodge. Thankfully there has been enough clearance each time to not make any impact. But I keep imagining if I was lowered and or with a front lip, I would have made impact.

Second guessing things a little now knowing how often this type of situation can arise.

Hmm
I am right there with you!

I have lowered with KW HAS spring and the stance and look was amazing, all my peer G8X owners who haven’t lowered envy my car’s look. However, as this is my only car, and I have to go to places under construction and with potholes, I am constantly thinking about lifting my car. A deal breaker is that one day, when I was going over a speed bump, I heard something hitting the bottom of my car, and it was loud. I soon discovered that it was my exhaust that was damaged. To prevent this from happening again, I lifted my car to the tallest setting of KW HAS.
In short, stance and looks is indeed important, but if you drive your car everywhere, practicality is also something to consider.
Attached is my car with stock height, after lowering, where my exhaust was damaged, and my currently ride height.

However, I will tell you that it’s a lot of hassle to go to places, esp when pulling into peoples driveways or encountering random speed bumps.

I’ve hooked up IFTTT with Apple Maps to send me location-based texts for all known places that I know to have issues with a lowered car. For example, if I go near my local Whole Foods, I get a text saying “ALERT: Don’t enter with M3, there is speed bump!” I still haven’t figured out how to distinguish between cars, so I get text regardless of what I’m driving, even my GX470, which is raised massively and can pretty much go over boulders … but well, it works as a safety net, lol.

Things you have to do for a few millimeters 😂
It looks great and I love it when I see a car like yours… but I’m glad you’re driving it and not me.

$1k for a lip seems like a bargain compared to say, mhc (which I really like btw).
