No its a stage 1 map, no other hardware needed. This is what HCP wrote to me. "Even better is that we have a new upcoming OTS map for the same car as yours. Developed on an G20 330i with OPF! Power increase is amazing."

I dont know for sure, its a map custom developed by HCP on a 330i G20 GPF. Its an evelution of the earlier st1 maps. It will be avalible in the ots section eventually. I dont think they have cracked the locked ecu on later cars yet tbh.

Good that it's smooth! I feel the same. Is that the HCP map? How's it compare to current OTS? |

I would guess the non GPF will be 5-10whp more. |

Those are some real nice gains! 55whp is no joke.
I hope someone gets a dragy and posts some numbers

Its amazing the way it produces power too, it just builds all the way. The stock map starts to get out of breath after 5200rpm and it doesent award high revs but this stage 1 just builds power like a naturally aspirated engine. @5800 rpm the difference is over 60whp.

So I found some info on our transmission 8HP51 vs the F30's transmission 8HP50. These are the spec comparison gear ratio stats between the two. They're in Japanese because they're numbers for the A90 Supra.
Also our transmission is greatly underrated, there are members on the A90 Supra forum making over 500-600whp & 400+ lb ft of torque, and the transmission is still handling it. We on the 330i platform with B48 should not even begin to worry about tranny reliability, unless you are making some serious power Check attached: |

Received confirmation that the non-North American and non-European spec 330i, specifically delivered to the Caribbean, does not include the GPF. I think it is basically the same engine as the Euro spec, without the GPF and potentially mapped for a hotter climate with 95 RON fuel as the best grade. Wonder if this is the best of both worlds, less emissions than the NA spec and no GPF like the Euro spec. Would be interesting to know if this set-up was 5-10 HP and TQ more than the non-NA and non-Euro. Probably just wishful thinking. Obviously the BMW 'official' numbers are all exactly the same at 255 HP and 295 TQ across the regions, but surely there must be slight variations between the output of these motors based on region specific mapping and slight hardware differences. |

When I check my VIN on mdecoder.com, it says my engine is 190kw/258hp with Engine code being B48D. Checking in realoem.com says the engine is B48D and B48B20B at the same time. Not sure what all this means. |

Hey guys, been awhile now so I want to update you guys on my tune experience thus far:
Ever since going Stage 2, I've experimented a lot with burble settings and what not, all across the configurator settings, countless flashes, but nothing sounds as good as original OTS burble settings. I did try to dial aggression to 9-12 and it is crazy aggressive, lots of gunshots and burbles especially under heavy throttle. That's all I want to say about burbles, I know to some of you burbles is a big deal so I wanted to give my 2 cents on it. Performance wise, it's been very good with Stage 2, besides my stock charge pipe which has been failing. I will attach pictures for before and after, as I replaced my charge pipe and boost pipe with the FTP aluminum pipes. With the new charge pipes, I thought maybe with my old JB+ I can up the boost by 2psi on top of my Stage 2 tune, since JB+ tricks the boost sensor into thinking it is running under high altitude, I thought maybe that would still be considered safe. I put my JB+ @ 40% (around 11 o'clock position), now my car is at 350bhp & 400lbft from the Sport Display. I don't know how reliable that is but I know for a fact that at full throttle when I was in Stage 1, it would show 320bhp and 380lbft. Those numbers as shown in Sport Display were consistent throughout all my runs in the past while on Stage 1. Stage 2 with charge pipes, catless downpipe and JB+ @ 40% produces 350bhp & 400lbft. Right now I think it's running good. Very zippy car and drives amazing. Pulls super hard and for my needs, more than enough. All of the power is usable. Limp mode is no longer a threat bc of upgraded charge pipes. Installation took ~2 hours, with the help of my gf, it was relatively easy. The c-clamp by the turbo was a little tricky to get off but easy once you find how to disengage it. I'll make a separate thread on the FTP charge pipes but so far everything is running beautifully. I think I am going to stay where I am for awhile now, the car I feel is at its limits. Next mods could be water/meth injection, with a Stage 2+ custom tune running race gas, that would probably make close to 400whp provided the stock turbo can handle that kind of power. Hopefully everyone is staying safe and isolated throughout COVID19 and thanks for reading. |

350/400 is real good! That’s more than the F30 340i I believe?
Also, how did you know the charge pipe was failing? I see the gap in the last pic. Is that the only way you knew or were there other signs or symptoms from the car?

The gap would get noticeably wider when the pipe is hotter. Also, the pipe used to be fully connected to the throttle body, but it no longer is, and that's a sign the part will fail eventually, just depends on when.

Honestly the numbers don't mean much to me at this point, the 330i is fast and probably faster than older F30 340i stock bc of how well the power is being delivered, it's so smooth and the shifts are thunder fast, so much torque that low end is no problem, AWD provides more than enough grip for the power, you will never lose traction and the car just does what you tell it to do. Handling is pretty good in 330i IMO. Tuned 340i I'm sure is still heaps faster than 330i, but only past a certain speed. Even a launch on a G20, the grip and delivery is superb, very direct power delivery. Other cars may be pushing more numbers on paper but with all aspects considered like how well the power is being delivered, Stage 2 OTS is more than enough. It's a extraordinary tune.

Also, you said you bought FTP pipes? The same ones as the B46/48 F30? Any reason why you went with FTP? I see VRSF has cheaper ones. I wonder what the difference is other than branding.

There are no performance gains from charge pipe. The gains came from my JB+ dialled to +2psi |

Yup. I noticed that only FTP has it for the G chassis. I assumed it would be the same in both the F30 and G20 because the engines are the same. But with that logic, intakes should be cross compatible too but it isnt. My mistake.
