Had my annual service completed last week and failed/leaking engine mounts were discovered. Another service appointment was scheduled to address and was told it would not be covered under warranty.

My car is a 2019 330ix CPO with 28k miles. I have put around 12k since I purchased the car in 2021.

This doesn’t seem right. Anyone run into this issue?

Here are the items not covered by the CPO warranty. I don't see engine mounts listed unless they are using the braces and mounts to cover that. Perhaps give another dealer a call and ask.

Thanks for the documentation. I opened a review ticket with BMW NA.

Hoping for the best. A little disappointed that engine mounts would fail so quickly on a car with less than 30k miles.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

So, I’m assuming it’s out of new car warranty by time and into the CPO warranty? I would say it is unlikely the CPO warranty will cover this. Mounts are specifically listed as excluded.

I’m trying to wrap my head around engine mounts failing after such a short life.

I had to replace rear brakes rotors after 27000 miles.

This is my first BMW and I’ve liked the car but this has soured my opinion of the brand.

I’ve only owned German cars (VW, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi). I know to expect some fragility but not this soon into the life of the car.

[QUOTE=doublevanosrc;30801453]In for update.

I haven’t heard from BMW NA yet. The rep said it could take up to 5 business days to review.

Update: BMW NA has denied to cover any work citing this as normal wear and tear.

Really disappointed that a company won’t stand by their product. This is clearly an item that has failed much sooner than should be expected.

I’ve owned VWs, Mercedes and Porsches.
I really thought I was going to be a BMW for life customer. Not anymore.

I was looking forward to shopping an M2 or Z4 manual next year. Cancelling those plans.

As someone who has a CPOd 2020 at 26k miles I am not excited. This seems like some BS.

I ran into the same issue. However, mine did not fail until 31,000 miles. CPO did not cover.

How much did they charge to replace?

I was quoted $2500 from the stealership.

$1600 from an independent BMW mechanic.

I’m done with BMW after this.

$2500 for motor mounts is insanity.

My repair was done at an independent shop. This was February of last year. I did not even bother with a quote from the dealership.

I wouldn’t either. They keep mailing me notices of their $99 value oil change so they can tell me I need $5K worth of work. No thanks.

The $5k estimate can always be ignored, or vetted by trusted indies, after the $99 value oil change.

Unfortunate experience but I wouldn't let it sour you on the brand. Many BMW owners have had "one off" issues with a vehicle that is never repeated with subsequent purchases. Give us another chance.

My very first BMW was a 1984 318i with the infamous carbon build up issue and was in the shop for 5 of the first 11 months of ownership but I bought another and then another.

15 purchases later I drive an M440i convertible and still have the best car I have ever owned, an e39 M5 with 125,000 miles over the last 23 years.

BTW....replaced the engine mounts in the M5 at 60,000 miles.
