My new Oxide Grey BMW 330e Touring (G21)

I collected my BMW 330e (G21) Touring yesterday. Spec is as follows:

Exterior: Individual Oxide Grey metallic
Interior: Individual Fiona Red full Merino leather

Audio media pack (wireless phone charging)
Automatic dimming and folding rear view mirrors
Parking pack
Rear privacy glass
Harman Kardon surround sound system
Galvanised controls
Electrically adustable seats
Parking assistant plus (3D surround view)
M Sport braking system in red high gloss
19" LM M Double-spoke alloy wheels (791 M Jet Black)
Black high-gloss shadow line (front grill and exhausts)
Adaptive M suspension
BMW Drive recorder
Mirrors caps in black high-gloss

I'm really happy with the spec. I think Oxide Grey is a stunning colour, and the red interior and brake callipers go with it perfectly. The ride is particuarly good too. I don't know how much of that is down to the adaptive suspension, however, but it feels as good as my X5 on air suspension. I think the full leather interior makes it feel ultra premium inside, and the Merino leather is a lot softer than the Vernasca which comes as standard.

Obviously the biggest feature of the car which I am most keen to get to know is the electric drive. I drove it from the dealer yesterday and managed to get around 43km on a full charge without even trying. It's currently parked on the drive now, charging. It looks like it will take around five hours.

This is my tenth BMW and joins my R8 V10, X5 30d (G05), and a BMW 318i (F30).

Beautiful! What's the build date? Are you impacted by the latest BMW PHEV recalls?

Gorgeous looking car, although I may be slightly biased as I have a 330i Touring on order in Oxide Grey with all the black bits( called Pro Edition here in UK) with black Merino interior. I have full Coral red leather on my current 340 so fancied a change to Tartufo but this was then deleted for the 2021 model year.

The equivalent of the Pro Edition in the Netherlands is called the "M Sport Individual" model, and there are a few differences in what options are included to the UK it seems. One of them is that you get the full Merino leather which extends under the dashboard, which I believe is only available on the M340i in the UK and not the 330e. Tartufo is also still available, so it's strange they dropped it in the UK. I almost went with Tartufo as it does look very good.

Welcome to the G21 Oxide Grey club!! interesting to see with the red brake callipers. Curious to know what is your full range of the car fully charged and fully tanked.. maybe 600km? So if you were going on a long journey across Europe for example how far could you go before having to fill up and recharge again? Thanks

Hi there fellow Yorkshireman. I think I could get well over 600km combined range. I'll be doing a long trip in just under a month, so I'll post an update on that.

The minimum I usually allow myself to get down to on the fuel tank is "range remaining 70km", with a contingency of another 20km in an emergency. So I think the normal operating range should be over 600km.

Overall I'm loving the car so far, with a few minor irritations.

Off the top of my head:

1) The lane assist has to be deactivated every time you start the car. In my X5 it doesn't. I've no idea why this is even a thing on a car. Are people unable to keep a car within the lane now? So I have to deactivate it every time I start a journey, OR, accept the steering wheel being tugged left and right when it thinks I'm leaving the lane. Bloody annoying!

2) The centre console cover where the cup holders and mobile phone tray are located. The light stays on if its open (which is most of time if you have a drink in there), which is very annoying at night.
