I just got msrp -$750 in the Denver area. Not great, but not too bad I guess.

You need to examine that lease very carefully. I don’t know the current money factor or the residual, but that payment sounds VERY HIGH!! How well do you understand leases? It’s not very hard to calculate a lease by hand. The formula is in the Ask a Dealer forum on Bimmerfest. I’ve never seen it here. There’s also a pretty good calculator on Lease Hacker. The rule of thumb used to be a lease payment of about 1% of the MSRP with nothing down.

Leases aren’t same like they use to be residuals are way lower for every manufacturer. So the 1% rule doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a thing called inflation, the car market will never go back to what it use to be.

So, what is your residual and money factor?

No a bad residual. Money factor is high, but, of course, that’s expected these days. Do you know if the dealer marked up the MF? They are allowed to mark it up 0.0004 (0.96%), almost a full percentage point. That markup is pure profit for the dealer. If you press them hard they will probably reduce it or eliminate it.

.00190 is the MF for July. There’s also $750 in loyalty on the 3 series through Aug 1 (at least in my area).

This is absolutely insane but I guess it's just the reality of the car market now. I got my car a little over a year ago. $67K m340, custom build. 10,000 miles/36 months. $2K at signing and $640/month (including tax). If prices are still like this when my lease is up I'm just buying the car.

That is exactly what we just did. We were paying $711 a month for our 2020 M3 40. I would have to disagree that car prices will "never go back". The market fluctuates and this cannot go on forever. Even with the terrible market, I would never pay an inflated money factor.

Exactly! they all said the same about the crazy housing market and the cooling has now begun. Things will reset eventually, especially since many would-be buyers of new cars are now downsizing and or waiting on the sidelines. Many households are keeping just one car since both parties are working from home. You also have many of us current lessee's choosing to buy out our leases instead of getting a new one.

In SoCal. Just put in for an allocation and got $750 loyalty, $700 off MSRP and locked in 3.99% rate for financing (promo rate for 3 series right now). Had two dealers going back and forth so seems like there's some softness at dealers right now or maybe it was just an end of the month quota rush.

Yeah...I won't be getting a M340i. I'm just going to get a M3/M4.

Central California. Worked with the same CA that sold me my first BMW back in 2012. Got $2500 off an M340i which included loyalty.

I was offered an allocation and a small discount but it just made much more sense to buy my current lease vs ordering a new car.

If one must get into a new car, it makes much more sense to buy it vs leasing it these days.

Market will eventually calm down and competition in between brands will hopefully resume.

Got -2500 off MSRP for my 2023 m340i xDrive that is basically fully loaded minus the tire performance package, spare tire, 5g, and anniversary emblem thing.

Then another -750 for loyalty. Then another -1000 for the recent college graduate credit.

Total off MSRP -4250. Sadly no rate lock (though I will see if that is possible, but not sure).

Also will get a $500 rebate from BMW CCA afterwards

Hey I have a question I was quoted for 2023 M340i xdrive
Lease: 36 months 7500 miles 2k down $1010 a month
Bmw Select: 60 months 2k down $1016 a month. Balloon is $15,165

What would be the best option for me if I plan on getting something else in 2 years? Basically asking which option would I owe less money on in 2 years?

I got $1750 off plus $750 fleet rebate.

Feel fine about this. I just purchased an X7 from same dealer and got a similar deal, so I’m sure that helped.

3 years ago I would be 12%+ off both cars.

Seems like a bit of softening is occurring. I wonder what third quarter sales will look like…..
