Took me awhile to realize but all the new headlights(laser) are drawing inspiration from the DTM car. Wonder if they'll ever be an exact match in the long run.

Most people will simply pick and choose a couple...BMW isn't going to use multiple cars to showcase different combinations of parts so they stick them on one

They finally did it! BMW created Voltron!

I'm a bit jealous of the aero parts love that the 3 series is getting. Nice options that are a great addition. I wish they'd offer a similar front lip footer the 2 series.

The tailpipes are different on the M340i. You can still tell them apart by a few key features. People who don't own 3 series couldn't tell a 320d apart from an M340i regardless. A few M Perf parts won't make much of a diff. People who do own the cars will be able to tell based on a few key things like exhaust and fog lights. That's not too different from how it is with the F30.

Also, in America, at least, no one buys these M Performance parts because it doesn't cost much more to just buy the M340i anyway. Even the jump from the M340i to the M3 is not huge. It might even be less than the cost to fully kit out a car with M Performance parts.
I met a guy that spent 74 thousand on his 340 after all the M performance parts.....

including the extensive modifications I havent even spent that much on my M3.

the faux M's are an absolute joke to me, and I cackle maniacally every time I see one

I don't know why anyone would do that. The only reason I could see someone justifying it is if they absolutely needed an AWD BMW sedan. Otherwise it makes no sense.

That’s what people want. A cross between a Transformer and something that would run you off the road, then back up and smash you in the face. After all - why else make something look so aggressive?

I actually think it looks really good. Love the front but from the back the tail lights and little vertical vents make it so all I can think of is this:

Agreed. All of that pomp and circumstance on a 320d? Reminds me of the late 90s-early 2000s tarted up Honda Civics we called “rice boys”. No thanks.

Looks like a right dog's dinner to me at the front and sides, way too fussy, and those wheels are fugly, like something you'd get on a modern Vauxhall SRi. What ever happened to understated? The rear view is the best angle and even that is too derivative.
'Could do better, BMW' is my verdict
