I was given an estimated time of arrival to dealer (7/31) after the car was processed at the vpc (7/24) and it shot past that date with no further updates to my work order (7/29) due to the camera retrofit stop-sale. I'd keep your expectations extremely low. Similar stories for G80 cars.

Thanks!!! So it got to port on the 5th then was released to carrier about 2 days later. It sat in Oxnard, CA with the carrier for another 3 days or so. Bmw showed in transit on the 11th and got up here to Salt Lake this afternoon. So 8 days after reaching Port of Hueneme.

Hello, All! We placed an order for an M340i on August 12. It will be a German build. The dealer says they had an allocation and are waiting for an actual allocation code# from the factory. Is this the normal process? How long does it usually take between order placed and order received?

How long after placing your order did it take to get to "Received Production code"? We placed an order for a German build on 8/12. Dealer says we should be getting an "allocation code" any day now.

Hi and congrats on your order. I'm sure you are excited!

I ordered on 8/9, also a Germany build due to exterior color.

I've heard nothing about getting an allocation code. I think your dealer may not know how to correctly track. An allocation code,
I believe is an internal code between dealer and the factory.

You should have gotten immediately from your dealer a VIR report,
a vehicle identification report, e-mailed to you.

It is essentially your build confirmation, plus other dealer info.
In the upper left hand corner, you should see: Prod No: followed by several digits. Vin number will be empty since it's not assigned until you go into production.

Go online, to MYBMW and set up an account with a UN and PW.
You then put in your Production Number and you can see where your car is in the timeline.

Something tells me you are at the beginning with "waiting for the factory to accept the order", especially if your SA has not given you a build week yet.

The day after I ordered, I had the VIR with Prod number and a build week 35. Car is currently "scheduled for production".

Dealers and SA's, geez what can I say.....good luck, be patient.

Thats great 👌. But did your tracking say dispatched from factory after it was loaded to the ship?

Mine is in the ready to transport stage and I'm hoping it will get into the Phoenix leader on 24th

Yes. MyBMW updated to "Awaiting carrier assignment," "Dispatched from factory," and now "At the port" earlier today. I called the 800 number and spoke to a representative who said my car was on the Horizon Leader and had been loaded on 8/17. This tracks with vessel tracking sites which show it left Veracruz on 8/17 and is headed for Brunswick, GA.
