My G80 drawing/rendering using i4 grilles

Hey, today I had some extra time and decided to draw G80 with BMW i4 grilles. I know that some of you were asking if someone could photoshop it. I certainly don’t have photoshopping skills, but I do have some amateur drawing skills.

You certainly have some skills, thanks for sharing these!

They re-enforce my suspicions that a midline separating the kidneys is vital to make this look decent. The look in the last picture is..well not nice.

Thank you my friend. I like the middle one the most.

Middle one has my vote and seems realistic. Thanks for sharing, awesome!

You know, this doesn't look too bad actually. I like the middle one.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I dont like the outline shape of those kidneys at all. I hope those style lines are part of a removable grill that can be replaced with something black to downplay it. I wonder how that would work if they're broken up in the middle, because I think that one looks the best also.

Nice pictures though!

Would it be a lot to ask if you can fill the grill area the same way as the you did with the splitters? That should make the shading look closer to how grills appear IRL. Thanks!

What do you mean by splitters? With the grille that splits in the middle with plate holder and make darker grilles?

Unfortunately this is probably pretty accurate. I am scared of this big grille movement that BMW has joined.

My one comment on the drawing is that the spy shots indicate that the headlights will be different from the regular G20, and will not have the notch in the bottom.

Nice work!

The air intakes at the right and left ends of the front below the bumper.

I’m pretty sure it could and you can see a thin tape across the bottom portion of the headlight covering some of the design. Its also possible that the front piece covering the bumper is slightly bigger and covering the headlights from the bottom. Same goes for the bulge between the grille and the headlights just to throw us off so people could think that the headlights won’t be extended all the way.

Ok, now I know what you meant. Not a problem, but you need to give me some time. Probably later on tonight when I get home from work.

Sorry, was referring to the notches on the bottom of the headlights that are the basis for a character line on the bumper for the regular G20. The bottom of the G80 and G22 headlights appear to be straight lines.

You can tell that these are not production headlights. I used G20 headlights for fun but my main focus was on the grille. Everything in my drawing was made up.

I suspect there's an issue with the forums. I noticed it in other threads too.

Imagination can be a dangerous thing! Well just have to wait and see... but yeah — these are a bit too funky for me.
