Mercedes uses Baltimore as their primary port so that may explain the number of ships from Bremerhaven to Baltimore. If I lived anywhere other than Minnesota with its 45 days of not winter I would be waiting on a car just like yours.

Thats basically what I figured. It just sucks as usually they have ships to NYC every 5-6 days from Bremerhaven, and just so happens there is now a 3 week break in between ships! So car been ready for a week already and won't leave for another 2 weeks as it basically got to port the day the previous ship left. All these nice convertible-driving days...hopefully April 2024 has good weather too!

Yep, not much you can do except wait. The period from the car rolling off the line until it gets to the dealer is the hardest part of the whole process.

Don't I know it. My car rolled off the assembly line in Mexico on 2/26. I still don't have my car. Delays all over the place. Wasn't put on a ship til 3/22. Arrived in Baltimore on 4/6. Now it will likely be close to the end of this week or early next week before I finally take delivery. 😕

You are the second person I have seen on this thread that is in NJ but was offloaded in Baltimore. Assume the dealer is not in NJ? You must have been on the Glovis ship that had one of the slowest schedules I've heard of. Took a week to go from Baltimore to Newark. You could bike it faster.

I used a broker who works with a dealer just outside of Baltimore and my car was on the Grand Pioneer. Most of the delay seems attributable to sitting at the port in Mexico for almost a month.

When I ordered the car I was assigned production week 6:

Your M340i xDrive Sedan has been ordered!
Production Number Xxxxxxx. Production Week 6

I think it was actually finished week 8. Then it just sat and sat and sat before finally being put on the boat 3/22. Due to delays they are shipping the car to my home, rather than have me drive to Baltimore to get it and they offered BMW lease protection for $30 per month which I declined.

They say the car will be delivered on Saturday. We'll see.

Car finally arrived Friday evening. Because of the delays there was no dealer prep done. Basically put it on a truck and shipped it to my house with the protective plastic still on it.

Woke up the next morning and removed all the plastic and wiped it down with some MF cloths and lots of water to remove all the pollen. Spent about an hour or so setting up my phone, driver profile etc. An interesting way to take delivery, kind of forces you to learn about the features of the car.

So far, so good. I can see myself getting into trouble with this car although I've been very good about obeying the local speed limits.

BMW Genius Hotline told me it was en route to Bremerhaven, but it still shows Ready for Transport. Weird. I'm guessing they can see more than what they update on MyBMW.
