2025 M3 LCI with new 5 Series G60 interior
The new G60 5 series interior is gorgeous, with the interior lighting, new wheel, and much more!
Do you see the M3 LCI being updated with this interior? |

Looks like BMW is going with a flat bottom steering wheel now.

Not a chance. It'll just be the usual LCI... headlights, taillights, and a touch more HP. They couldn't update the interior unless they also update the G2X, and that is not happening.

If they want to roll out iDrive 8.5 to the entire line up, this might be a chance as G2x and G8x have longer production run. Also i didnt say for certain that they will bring in the change. I said i wouldnt be surprised if i see it.

No, the 5 is more forward looking at this point in time.
The G80 is starting to look outdated now in comparison. You want that interior? And superior ride? Then move up to the M5 or 5 series.

OEMs are pushing HW / SW commonization more than ever so that they can reduce complexity to consolidate resources and reduce fixed cost. I work for an American OEM and personally doing this for the components which i own.

I would not call it major update and it was cost saving measure by implementing same exact set up across all platforms. And dash is not that different.
Obviously I don’t work for BMW and have no knowledge of what they are going to do. But they are trying to save money and maximize profits so bringing whole new design for 3 years is not the way to do that. My personal opinion. |

When i study on a change for my components used across vehicle ranges, i look at the implementation cost vs overall cost. Implementation cost to bring in iDrive 8.5 might be way cheaper than sustaining and supporting iDrive 8 for the longer production run. |
