Check part number in realoem or you can also inside the steering wheel behind the airbag where there are connectors. There will be 4 wires coming into the Electronic steering wheel module at the bottom right around 5 o'clock

Hi guys, Will retrofitting the steering wheel void my warranty?
Can you also advise how do I disconnect the battery to replace the steering wheel? The reason I'm asking is on the some videos people are disconnecting 2 batteries. |

I am considering extended warranty, but also would like to retrofit the heated steering wheel. Is there any chance BMW will code the retrofit steering wheel if I change it?
Is there any chace they will see if someone else codes it for me? |

If they just scan the car without programming they shouldn't notice it. But if they program the modules then some errors will pop-up due to incorrect LIN components, and if you changed the steering column module it will appear as incorrect hardware. |

Thanks,
I emailed BMW to find out. I had quite a few issues in my 1st year of using my car. Luckily it was covered with warranty. I believe it's really worth to do keep it, but at the same time would love to modify my steering wheel (already bought ). Just trying to balance it somehow. Hoping that only some part of warranty will be affected (i.e. programming etc.) and others won't. |

Hi guys. I have just got a M340i with the 690 part number steering wheel (m sport and paddles without DAP)
What hardware do I need to change to get a heated steering wheel. From what I have read I think I need the 691 steering wheel but not sure if that’s right and if I need anything else. Thanks in advance |

There are multiple part number for different packages. You can look it up in realoem and filter them according to the vehicles configuration or send me the VIN i look it up for you.

First you will need to change the steering wheel with one that has steering wheel heater.
Looks like you have the correct SZL. This is the current one im seeing using your vin. Switch unit steering column (US 4B AIC FLA) 4_Band: Steering wheel heater aic: Rain sensor intermittent switch (auto interval control) fla: High beam assist (switch) |
