Where to stay and go (near Swiss, French, and German borderlines)

Wanted to spend a week in EU and for some reason picked that region (not sure if it's good idea) I've already been to Zurich, Lucerne, Nice, etc and all surroundings. I've also already booked a hotel in France, but can change......

Ideally was also looking at S.Italy but I just came from Italy recently so picked a different region

Lake Annecy is gorgeous... I would love to retire there one day.
Beautiful medieval town with canals and cobbled streets but with a new part too and obviously all the activities around the lake. You can go paragliding and mountain biking close to there too.
And the best part is... It's not really a known destination for Brits

Fly into Geneva and drive about 40mins.

Yeah Annecy is very appealing, I like that it's near lake Geneva and Chamonix

But wife tough maybe it's a good idea to do a day trip to Paris and for that I was also checking out Colmar (looks like about 2 hour train ride to Paris) We were at Como recently and loved it, I generally like mountains, but figured maybe some change is good

Freiburg is worth a night if you're in that area.

I've heard the castle Brunwald on the Austrian-German border is quite nice this time of year!

Bavaria is too far. I am trying to stay within 2-3 hours radius. Thinking of keeping Colmar as base. Should have access to wine fields, Strasbourg, Alps (Wengen etc), Bern, Lausanne, Nancy, Metz, and even Paris. Not planning to visit everything, but options are nice.
