Upstate New York Inspection - Tinted Windows
Bob does not want to blow up the spot, or make problems. Bob is just hoping that someone might have a light to shine.
Meet Bob. Bob drives a 2020 M340i in upstate New York. He has his rear and rear passenger windows tinted. Bob has always had his windows tinted in the past. He 'knew a guy' for state inspections and the world was a happy place. Bob and the guy took good care of each other. One day, the guy that Bob knew . . .retired and moved to Florida. Now bob is lost and trying to find a new guy. Bob knows that calling direct and asking - is not going to go well. Bob hopes and wishes upon a star - that someone out there will shine a light upon a path. Now - many people may feel the compelling need to SCOLD BOB and tell him that he is a bad person. But Bob knows . . .this is how things work. Like it or not. Bob knows that lots of people know a guy and that's how things work. Yes, there are alternatives, if bob can't find a guy. He knows all about them. That's not what Bob is wishing for right now. If you want to add a new chapter to this story about BOB . . . . . please DM ME - and not post.

Thanks. I know there is an old gas station (really old pumps) that has a garage, few miles away. I will maybe test my luck there.

Where about? Need place near Northern Westchester/Putnam, canceled my tint job because I don't want to have to take them off for next inspection. What percent do you have?

I too am in upstate NY. Tint shop I go to does a “peel deal” - $170 to remove tint on all four windows, and re-tint after inspection.
I might shoot for an exemption this year, but the deal has been working well for me.
