Gap between EOP/SOP?
Sorry if the answer to this question is obvious, but if the end of production of a vehicle is listed as June 20 and the start of production is listed as July 20 does that mean the factory is retooling for a month?

It could be June 30th - 1st July?
I doubt the factory will stop for any great length of time...... If at all. I work in the world of tyres and the manufacturer's that supply the plant are fined circa $8000 for every minute they stop the production line due to short supply. So a month is a huge cost. |

I don’t know where you’ve sourced those dates from, but it seems likely to me that the intent was “June 2020” and “July 2020” whereas it appears based on your question that you are interpreting them as “June 20th” and “July 20th”. The reason I suspect the intent is such because, generally speaking, it’s not common for production dates include the exact day.
That being said, it is my understanding that there typically is a couple week plant shutdown between major model changes. Possibly for LCI changes as well. |
