M340 quad exhaust tips on stock exhaust

Looking to put quad tips on my m340. Is it possible to retrofit quad tips onto the existing exhaust without having to get Dinan or awe's full exhaust system? I'm ok with the current sound but love the look of quad tips.

yes indeed however I do not think there is presently an "off the shelf solution" to do quad tips. That said I would suggest a visit to your local muffler shop to have them help you with a strategy (meaning are they going to fab a y pipe for you - or will they want you to buy something ready made). When I was toying around with this idea - my shop was able to help with y-pipe length etc....and gave me enough so I could go shopping for some tips on line. I have since decided to keep things oem back there - so I never pursued it

In the end I think most are running 3.5" tips on either side / hope this helps a bit / also if you search the forums you'll find a couple posts on people that have done this mod :-)

I posted my setup on another thread but can't find it now. I bought some quad tips off eBay last month and had a local shop weld them on.

I thought the conversion kits are if you got the AWE exhaust with no tips and wanted to add tips later on. From how it's worded on their site it seems like it would only fit on their exhausts and not the stock/MPE exhausts.

I could be wrong though.

Yeah I talked to a local muffler shop and they said they could fabricate a quad tip set onto my car for $300ish. I was looking at awe and Dinan but am afraid to void the warranty.

I dont think either of these will void warranties. Same reason I'm hesitant on a tune but exhaust wont cause any issues and should not void warranty unless they can prove something went wrong because of the exhaust itself which is highly unlikely .. Ill be going Dinan when its back in stock.

Megan racing have a good selection.
As others have stated - you'll need a shop to weld them and possibly chop a piece of your standard tailpipe off.

It seems like a permanent option.

Any reputable dealer will not "void" an entire warranty from an aftermarket exhaust. Worse case you end up replacing the exhaust w a stock OEM one.

Wouldn't let that keep others from buying a good aftermarket exhaust

Couple threads out there about this already. A lot of members are going with the IAW clamp on M Style Quad tips that work with either std OEM, or OEM MPerf exhaust

There's a 3.7" dia version:

or their new 4" dia version:

I installed the 3.7 dia tips the day I picked up my 2024 M440i Gran Coupe. It was about 15 minutes to install and all you need is a 8mm and 10mm socket. I think they look great.

m340i LCI Quad Tip Fitting

I bought my M340i Touring LCI a year ago and from the very first day when it was presented, I disliked the exhaust trim, styling wise it looks OK, but just a bit of trim stuck on the back and not integrated with the exhaust, just looked naff to my eyes, especially as you can see a large gap and the road between it and the exhaust.

So, having exceeded my budget on upgrades, didn’t want the expense of a new system with quad tips, which I think the car really deserves, although not a true M, it’s immensely capable and I would pitch it against my old M2……….almost.

This has been bugging me since I bought the car and have been looking for an alternative solution to install quad tips on a budget and consequently following this forum’s comments for quite a while now and different methods, decided to bite the bullet and ordered a set from AliExpress, as has been mentioned here.

I must admit, I’m impressed, ordered a set of chrome tips, although spent months debating whether it should be chrome or black, carbon fibre or plain and eventually decided that plain chrome would look the best and a more appropriate OEM look and surprisingly, they arrived after only 8 days from ordering

The box they arrived in was a tight fit for the tips, but they were well protected with bubble wrap, with no damage or scratches, in fact they were amazingly well fabricated and weighty. The company AK MUFFLERTIP kept me informed of delivery status with regular emails, as can be seen from the pictures and a typical email notification (I live in France, hence the description in French).

Anyway just like to thank you all for your input, it was very helpful in deciding which way to go, the tips are now installed and fit perfectly, no complications and were completed in just 15 minutes, the test of course is to see how long they last, but the materials are all stainless, so don’t expect any long term problems and now the car looks as it should have from the factory and by the way, it's a standard exhaust, non MPE……...hope y’all gained some interest from my experience.
