I've got about 2 weeks left after which I may not be able to take delivery for several weeks due to travel and other conflicts. So I'm starting to sweat.

Well I just called and it sounds like there's just a delay with the tracking online. The rep said she's showing my vehicle left the factory and is at the port of departure, although she had no info on which port. So we're probably closer to getting our cars than we think.

In a funny bit of timing, I just did the same. The last update was on Feb 14 showed it in transit to port of departure, and the rep said he hopes to get an update sometime tomorrow. Hopefully it's been in motion all this time :-)

I still wonder if the tracking-system states don't align well with transit from the SLP plant. Has anyone tracked an SLP production car all the way to the dealer yet?

Trife:

I meant to ask--did you order any port installed accessories for yours? Mine is supposed to get the M-perf CF rear diffuser and trim.

No I didn't, although I wish I did now! I was already at the max budget for my build and had to keep the wife at bay. 😂

I may swap out all of the cerium parts with black (and carbon mirrors) though. Normally I wouldn't do that on a lease, but it's a 3 year lease so why not. And outside of the mirrors, the parts aren't too expensive.

Mine finally changed to "At the Port" on the web site. I hope that's the US port :-)

I just placed my order last Wednesday (2/26) and as of now the website only says "Scheduled for Production", so let's see when it'll finally get done and shipped.

Mine is back at the port again. Hopefully that means the port of disembarkation :-)

Hey did you car happen to come in thru Galveston or Freeport? I think I found the ship my car is on and I'm pretty sure it's on the same one yours was on.

If I'm right, looks like it'll get to port on the 11th, which gives me plenty of time to get things wrapped up before 60 days. 🤘🏽🤘🏽

I don't know--how did you determine that?

My SA says it has arrived at the destination port and will be ready for delivery next week. We will see.

If you check out vesselfinder.com you can see all the comings and goings of vessels from various ports. I noticed that Tampico doesn't have any vehicle carriers coming/going, which is how I found out there is another port nearby called Altamira. Sure enough there was a vehicle carrier called "Glovis Century" that left there on March 4. It hit Galveston on the 5th and Freeport on the 6th, and is headed to my POA of Brunswick, GA right now.

I noticed you said you're in TX so it makes sense for them to stop at a TX port along the way. And the timeframes line up with when you said your status changed when tracking the car via BMW's site.

edit: Yep, it's on that ship. Just called and confirmed it with BMW. 👍

Good detective work. Given my changed back to "at the port" sometime overnight between 3/5 and 3/6, I'm going to guess mine got off in Galveston, but it could be Freeport. I assume yours still shows "in transit"?

Yep, still in transit. Hoping to see a change on Wednesday. Couldn't come at a better time as I was finally eligible today to get my $500 PenFed coupon.

I'm back to "in transit" this morning. If it came via Freeport or Galveston, I hope for it to arrive at the dealer today or tomorrow.

Will do.

There may still be some disconnect with the web site states. The SA still thinks it's a day or two away from the dealer lot.
