m340i - 18" vs 19" rims
Hi everyone. Looking to get into my first BMW this fall, a 2021 M340i! This car is an absolute beast that I will use as a daily driver, but also for the occasional fun on the track!
I am torn between the 18" and 19" rims. Obviously the 19" rims look way better but the aspect ratio (40) concerns me. 18's come with (45). I am coming out of a grand Cherokee sitting on 20" rims (50 aspect ratio) and have never had 1 tire problem in 5 years. A 3 series is a new world for me, this will be my first sedan in a very long time. How dramatic of a difference in overall ride comfort is there between the 18" and 19" rim? Is it going to be a nightmare to have 19" rims where a majority of the driving I do is city driving? Any input is appreciated. So pumped, but I need to make the right decision.... |

I live in Minneapolis and work downtown. The roads out here can be horrendous after the winter thaw from all the salt and plows.
I got my M340i in March so haven't had it for a full winter or anything but I had no issues w my 19" RFT's all seasons it came equipped with. I'm on 20's now with 35/30 sidewall and still no issues. Think the 19's will be just fine!

I live in Australia and we have very ordinary road surfaces here and I have the 19” wheels and have had no issues. I also had a Grand Cherokee with 18” wheels previously so I think it will be fine.
