Acoustic glass - M340i

Hello everyone! I'm in the process of ordering a M340i and I was wondering if the acoustic glass option is a worthwhile one. Does it dampen wind noise mostly or does it have an effect on the sound of the engine and exhaust? If I were getting a diesel, there'd be no question but since I've decided on the petrol 6 I think the sound of the engine should be heard inside.

Has anyone driven a car with and without acoustic glass?

Thanks!

I thought acoustic glass wasn't a option and that it was standard. It's standard on my 320d.

On the windscreen yes. The option refers to the front side windows.

On my configurator it's shown as a non-deletable option

Acoustic glazing
The acoustic glass on the front side windows complements the standard acoustic glass on the front windscreen and significantly reduces the level of noise for everyone inside the vehicle. It minimises noise created by the outside surroundings and flow of air, as well as by the engine, tyres and windscreen wipers. . A layer of film built into the glass acoustically separates the outer and inner panes from each other. This effectively causes noises at mid frequencies to be muted, yielding a comforting, calm ambience inside the vehicle.
