320i economy
Hi all, been looking recently at some ex demonstrator G20's in M-Sport 320i (petrol) guise.
For anyone that has one of these, what's the economy like ? I don't do lots of motorway miles, mainly through towns and semi rural roads. Would as an average I expect it to return about 35mpg as an average or less ? |

My commute a couple of times a week will be between Newcastle & Carlisle, so I should easily see mid to high 40's across the A69, which is what I was aiming for. |

I got my 320i M Sport + 11 days before lockdown so all I've done is go to work and back, at the most 6 ish miles a day. Done about 1600 miles and averaged just short of 31mpg. Done a couple of short motorway runs of about 40 miles each. Happy enough with it, going to be visiting daughters soon in Hull and Dunfermline soon, looking forward to giving it a good run out, should see some improvement.

I've done 11000 miles so far. Average fuel consumption is 37.8 mpg. My daily 9 miles commute to work is a mix of 30/40/50mph. On a longer A road trips 50mpg is easily achievable.
Some examples of fuel consumption from a YouTube video At 50mph 4.3L/100KM that's 65.69 MPG At 62mph 5.1L/100KM that's 55.39 MPG At 75mph 6.1L/100KM that's 46.31 MPG The terrain and other factors will obviously affect this values but it just gives you a general idea. |

Thanks for sharing - interesting watch, albeit weird with no voiceover ha.
Looks like they did the test with cruise control too, and you'd generally get slightly better economy controlling the throttle yourself. Fair test though, as you need consistent variables so using cruise was the right thing to do. |

Just got back from seeing our daughter in Dunfermline, about 430 mile round trip, averaged 49mpg in eco pro most of the time, first decent run since we got the car. Extremely comfortable, big improvement from the diesel 320.
Edit: on cruise virtually all the way at 70mph. |
