Gauges will be Fluid
Sometime in the near future, there will be a paradigm shift and we will have full control of how we want to see pertinent data to assist our driving. Gauges will become an extinct word, when it comes to dashboards, which will also go away.
I am afraid windshields will be getting a lot more expensive though.

He also wrote "Super tight handling". Mustang is more like "Super loose" Back in the day, when I had X5, I drove a Mustang back to back with the X5; I was stunned to realize that X5 was tighter, felt lighter and more responsive.

Do these all digital dashes look wonkey ( or happen to be 90 degrees shifted, and blanked out ) when people wear polarized sunglasses?
And bleh to slow LCDs in cold weather too. "Even in the future nothing works!" |

I like the gauges on my M2 LCI - shown on left of the photo below. They are not digital, rather they are back-lit analog, which updates the look, and makes them actually readable (vs. non-LCI ones) in all lighting conditions. The only digital gauge I have is the AWRON. I think these would be perfectly acceptable for the new G8x, but I agree with most here that by the time these cars come to market, they will have all digital gauges.

The Mustang GT is also a great car. It doesn't handle as well as the Camaro or M4, but it is very close and light years better than the Mustangs of previous generations. The new GT is also available with MagneRide, so while it may not get the track numbers of the M4, it will ride better doing it. These American coupes are now the standard in affordable performance coupes and are not running jokes anymore. They run the gamut from fun rental car to the absolute fastest coupe you can buy for under $100,000 both in a straight line AND on a track. (I'm not including the Challenger because it is a pure muscle car straight line machine). |
