G20 330i or G01 xDrive30i?
Hi forum friends
I am changing my second F30 320i Sport, I have been waiting for the new G20 330i sport as an upgrade, but during my visit to my local BMW dealer, they showed me an X3 xDrive30i, for me looks very impresive. Since X3 model (G01) is from 2017 my concern is that if I buy a X3 BMW will have a Facelift no more than 2020 2021 tops (I think). I keep my cars no more than 3 years. And my concern with G20 330i Sport is that the car is brand new, so potential new models faults could appear. Can someone give me your opinions. I like both so much. |

Wait for a 2020 330i, just so you can find out if they have any first-year "quirks"/bugs that need fixing, The X3 30i is nice, but if you prefer driving dynamics over utility, your better off in a low to the ground sedan.

Thank you joshuastein55 for your answer, Ok, I think IŽll love any of both but in fact I am more a sedan guy, but I hate to wait.
I will try to configure my 330i as soon as it appears in the BMW configurator. |

I'd also wait for the G20 (or ideally G21 wagon if you get it in your market). The incoming G20/G21 330i will have the upgraded B48 engine with a small boost in power but a significant jump in torque - ie 190kW/400Nm vs 185/350Nm in the current G01 X3 30i. With that torque it should be a much improved drivers engine.
The X3 will also eventually get the improved engine but probably not until the LCI update of the G01. Tony |

Thx brissim, I know that is one of my problems, If G20 will arrive in march is going to be a 2019.... But you know BMW at least in my market change the incoming model in July more or less. So My brand new G20 will be brand new just 4 or 5 months.... I hate that part

Quite late to this ask but another reason to wait for the 3 series is the the current X3 interior is already dated (no new instrument cluster, no new dash layout). If you only plan to keep for 2-3 years maybe it doesn't matter but I would not want to pay money for tech that is already dated relative to other cars not the market - I'm sure it will all come to X3 LCI
