Next year they'll have to give you 2 cars for the price of one
The last time Alfa Romeo was sold in the US was 1993.

This was also around the time BMW was replacing engines at 30k mi because the NiKaSil lininig was bricking cars.

Lesson for us all: time for BMW to pull it out of NA. Or create a sub brand called “AMW” and build only electric cars. The 3 series is taking a good, solid, hard fucking from the American press (and only the American press, from what I can tell) where the love for the Alfa is measured in buckets, if you see what I mean.

It is time. In seven years, this forum will be lamenting that BMW no longer sells passenger cars in the US, where I will have dozens to choose from. In truth, by then after another cycle of convergence they won’t be a lot different in reality to the other compact execs, whereas the tearaway Alfa of 2025 will continue to impress when it isn’t breaking down or dropping parts.

It’s funny, a Brit having to tell an American forum that choice is actually *good*

I dunno about way better than my 340i
my testdrive didn't reveal that to me
it is underpowered for me for sure
next I may testdrive the Q4 although looking at the Q4 at the stealership
it does not look better to me than the F80 M3

And a FCA product to boot. No thanks!

Yeah that's right.
I entertained an idea of getting a new Wrangler Rubicon with 6MT for a minute until I joined Jeep forum and read nightmares people are having. Between 5 recalls a week, poorly welded frames falling apart frames, steering linkage pulling jeeps unexpectedly into the ditch, and rear doors opening on their own while you're flying on a highway.... No thanks I'd rather drive a Honda Accord than anything from FCA family

I instead leased a 2018 F30 330i - $299/mo for 24 months, loaded except nav. Such a smooth ride.

I'm considering doing the same, but am waiting to see how low BMW will go with G20 rates to restore the 3 series to it's former glory. After owning 2 F30's I'm not at a place where I feel confident paying a 100-200 premium per month as compared to a car like the Alfa.

They are junk. Good looking junk at least from some angles.

Saw my first Guilia in England a few weeks ago...
Its a good looking ride until I saw the front. I am not a fan of AR’s grill design, period. In fact, I wasn’t a big fan of the G20’s big grill either...however it has grown on me.

I’m surprised at the price point on AR, relatively cheap.

I think the price point is because AR is trying to reestablish itself in the US and it needs some exposure to turn people into the brand. You can’t just walk into the 3-series market segment at the same price as a 3-series and expect to sell. It’s the same deal for Genesis, Kia, even Toyota. Have you seen the new Camry? It may be FWD but it’s 10 grand down from a similarly equipped BMW and gives you similar off the line performance whilst being a ridiculously well equipped car at base pricing.
