I still feel like the N54 iterations sounded much more metallic and race-like where as the N55 got deeper and the B58 got deeper still and smoother and more refined. It seems they are closing the gap between the S55 sound so there is more of a specifoc symbiosis between all the sounds between the bmw range.
Personally, I prefer the n54 raspiness and n55 m-performance howl over the new stuff which sounds more generic to me somehow. |

Personally I think the N54 in the 335is sounds the best but think the B58 is the better engine and still sounds excellent. The B58 is so linear in its power delivery whereas the N54 runs out of steam/torque at 5200RPM. But that 335is exhaust was exotic sounding.

My 335is: My 340i: I won't create or post any videos of my M4 as it sounds like crap in comparison (at least from the outside!) |

M340 sounds much better than the mppk 340 to me. Much less fake pops and bangs and a deeper growl is far better. Also sounds alot better than the m3/4 imo I hope bmw are finally realising a nice sound IS important and not just fake piped sound.
I have high hopes for some decent power from a remap box for the m340, baring in mind a 340 will remap to 430bhpish now so even if similar for the m340 that's current m3 grunt plus ear biased x drive. Nice. |
