Yes. You've just built an F31, not a G31, as that's indeed not going to be offered in the US per current information.

I'd certainly have an F30 over an E90 in a heartbeat, and I'd even promise not to scream on the internet about the steering, whilst sitting dead stationary, in diesel-choked London traffic
I have had a decently equipped 335i E91 for about 6 years now. I though some time ago that it was high time to move to the next generation of 3 Series. But after seeing and driving a few cars I think I will stay some more time with E91. The F31 is slightly larger than E91 what is actually a drawback IMO, the car feels large like a yacht and less connected to the driver, at least in my eyes. Beside it, almost all the available 340i here are with xDrive I'd have to import 340i RWD from the German market.

Interesting option for me would be M3 Touring, but again, BMW fails to see this market niche. I really like the one-off creation of 63NP member and must admit that M3 F81 looks much more interesting than any 340i F31.

The mules of G21 do not look promising for me at all, when it is already clear how the sedan looks like. Even the future of M340i Touring is not sure in Europe and when it comes then for sure with xDrive on board. :

Just to follow up and correct my earlier comment: after researching, I found that the new front camera inbetween the grills is an ultra wide-angle camera that can see the sides as well. So we're covered on that

Interesting, ambient lighting is bound with leather seating option. No ambient lighting for the vinyl seat folks :p

99.9999% chance the black kidneys are offered as port installed option. Was too popular on the F3X for them to walk away from it.... they are on the Mperformance parts car

On the .be configurator we can already opt for black kidneys. An example with Dravit Gray exterior!

Not really a fan of black wheels but the Track Handling Package is a must so...

The biggest question for me is the interior trim. I have the "Fine-wood trim oak grain open-pored" in my build because it looks dark grey. If it's at all brown in person I'd pick one of the metal trims.

My Sunset Orange build above includes THP. Black wheels are not required.

“- The configurator is so confusing with the packages and the trim levels. If the convenience and driver's assistance package is included with the M Sport trim why show it as optional packages?”

I was confused as well. However, after doing a few tries...I realized that there was a glitch in the build. You need to play around with it to properly configure with/without packages.

True. If you try a few times on the build...you eventually will get what you want. It is glitchy.

I didn't see it in the US pricing/ordering guide, but the option code should be 7M9 for the "extended shadowline" option that gives you the black kidneys plus black-chrome exhaust tips.

I heavily loaded options but actually prefer the lighter front end with plenty of power of the 4. Also a historical nod to my 1977 320i when BMW was known as a 4 cylinder company. (Google the images of the Munich HQ building architecture!) Some folks scratch their heads and assume 4 cylinder buyers are more economically constrained, but I also loaded up my 228i with packages that suited my desires and exceeded the price of a less contented 6.

I tend to agree with this. a 450hp inline 6 that effectively ends up costing you $30k extra isn't gonna get you through traffic or even around a winding road much faster, and well now you are $30k poorer not to mention the insurance / fuel. The inline 4 at this point with nearly 300 lb ft and 255hp is a lot of engine

You're incorrectly assuming that everyone else drives like you do.

340i is already too slow for my tastes acceleration wise.

Love the black grille, have one on my F30, is a must for me when my lease ends when I move to the G20 (long way away, still)

The new BMW M4 DTM is an even more expensive 4 cylinder BMW with it's P48 2-liter engine and 620HP.

Base price for a X2 M35i is $46,450, and that 4-banger is pointing the wrong way.
