Good time to purchase an M4?
With the end of production for the current M4 ending next year, and a new one on the horizon, do you think 2019 is a good year to purchase an M4?
What do you think the depreciation will be when the new M4 gets announced/released? Will it's value take a big hit, or do you reckon it'll stay relatively stable?

The M2C has effected the resale value of the M4. I don’t think it will hold its value very well.

Just buy a used one, there are some nice deals to be had right now in the mid to low 40s on some. They are absolutely fantastic machines, pick up one in a 6MT variety for added fun!
I also happen to think they're the most beautiful cars BMW has ever made, the amount of comments and attention my car gets from random people is something else. Also, outside the rare spun crank hub, the S55 is an amazingly reliable engine. The car just feels like a tank, it's extremely well put together. I can't recommend it enough honestly. |

The aftermarket support for the cars is huge too, the sky really is the limit for whatever you might like to do to your car. The best advice I can give you is buy a used 2015-2016 for low 40s, and enjoy the hell out of it for a few years (or longer if nothing better comes out!). Get a bright color too, something unique. IMHO the white/black/greys of the world just don't do the car justice. The carbon roof is a must too! To me, the M4 is the rebirth of the MKIV Supra, no other car I've owned since my MKIV made me feel the same way. Here's a pic of mine. |

I'm waiting on one that I ordered. Should be in the states in February. The positives for new are:
- getting a much better deal on a new one (big discounts and better option pricing and packaging) I'm paying less for a 19 with ZCP and full leather than I did for 15 with extended leather and no ZCP. Get the full leather, it transforms the interior. - ZCP - LCI updates - latest I-drive - bugs are really worked out - never driven hard or tuned - full warranty and service - free euro and/or performance center delivery - no wear and tear Used is always more financially responsible, but I bit the bullet and went new. |

Sorry didn't see this post, thanks for the nice complement! The suspension is great, not one single rub ever and I even have 295/30/20s in the rear. I'm only running H&R springs for now (sorry should have been more clear), but will likely be getting some KWs this Spring. I might even just leave it alone and save the money, I love the car the way it is now.

I recently ordered BMW M4 2019 and I got a call from my dealer saying that I might get a 2020 version and it will be a little more expensive per month (lease). I got same question, is that a good time to get 2020 M4 considering that new M3 will be out in about 1 year ? It will be pricy and needs at least 1 year to get cheaper. Any suggestions ? Thanks

I was potentially looking at this M4 comp with very low mileage.
https://drivefoundry.com/listings/bm...ack-m-dct-2dr/ It's around a year old and sitting at £43,000. Planning on running it for around 3-4 years until I can get a year old new M3. Wondering how much of a hit this will take in the next 2-3 years during the build up to the new M3 & M4 and as mileage increases? Probably around 10k miles per year.

If i were in the market today, i would get a M2C over an M4 every day of the week.

The main thing that put me off the original M2 was that when I test drove one the interior felt exactly the same as a regular M2. No M buttons on the steering wheel, the same sport/eco button on the center console. I have seen the M2C has rectified this.
Do you reckon an M2C would hold value better in comparison to M4?
