Saw this today. Can't find any mention of whether it's available in the UK. I can find articles that are quite old saying it's being rolled out across Europe.

Is this a rejig of the RingGo system which I really liked for the brief amount of time that it worked before being pulled?

I’m pretty sure it uses Parkopedia. Which means that in many places it’s good for on-street parking as well as car parks.

It’s been available on the continent since 2022.

Was supposed to roll out to other countries last year. The video posted is BMW global, rather than UK.

It seemed a bit more integrated than Ringo as you get prompted when you turn off the ignition (47 seconds in). From what I remember of Ringo, you had to go into the app and for me, it was easier to get out the car and do it via the phone app while you're walking.

Excuse my ignorance on this topic, I've not needed to pay to park somewhere for several years.

I take it this system would not be of any use where there are old fashioned Pay-and-Display parking meters are in use, and there are parking attendants walking the streets looking for victims.

Most (not all) pay and display car parks / streets also have an app option these days. It's very rare to find somewhere without, in my experience. And then after a while the coin option gets taken away and it's app or contactless only. And then the contactless gets removed, and then eventually we're forced into a world of apps for everything. Except every car park seems to use a different app!

This replaced the park mobile app, which is now EasyPark.
I preferred it when it was park mobile as it was synced to the phone app.
However the idrive app does work pretty well here in the Netherlands. It picks up where you’re parked quite quickly, shows the nearest park meter number and the price it will charge. Easy to start a session, and stops when you drive off. Definitely the most useful APP

Ah, I see, sounds a lot like where things are now with EV charging, not that I know much about that either, but there seems to be a whole lot of different EV chargingg providers, and they all have their own app.

I think the app issue isn’t as big now, as many you can just pay contactless.
