I get it, but I guess It just feels like there should be a few more models in between before it comes to this lol. Well it really feels like it should never come to this but...

That's a hideous example of a company failing to understand its customer base.

BMW has done tons of innovation over the years but they are always behind the curve in technology. Maybe instead of playing catch-up on a played out design (big ugly grills) they should think about why my Son's 25k Subaru has more technology in it than my 60k BMW. Audi seems to keep up just fine. Why not BMW?

Wow I'm in shock - not in a good way. I love the design except for the front grille which is the signature of a bmw (kidney grille). I will not buy the 4 or any product from bmw if the front grille has this design language. Sorry bmw, you will lose me as a customer if this design language spreads to other models. Please reconsider an alternative design.

It's interesting that you'd think a company of BMW's magnitude would play games and develop cars as jokes, even when BMW employees on the forum have warned about this for months. I can't really understand that frame of thinking. It's about as juvenile as the assertion it spawns.

Well was like many of you when I first saw the covers come off the car that like yourselves I was in denial.
But as I spent more time with the 4 I came to accept its intentions and its dramatic appearance.

I said previously this is 85% of the actual production car but the more enhanced areas such as the Areodynamics are less enhanced that they resemble snow shovels.

They are really going for a more sportier angle and certainly the outline gives that away. The Cabrio, Gran Coupe and i4 are equally stunning. The 4 has presence and certainly you won't mistake it for anything else.

If we play around with the proportions you can see how well the 2er will fit in. There are a lot of elements showcased with the 4 that blend well with a smaller footprint.
Are you telling us that the G42/G87 will also look like this?

...Or....a reflection of a company that fully understands its customer base. WE, as an enthusiast forum, are not representative of the base as a whole.

Why is this a 2020 concept? The tail lights off the old i8? The rear fender section of a 2010 camaro? Side profile of an audi a5/infinit? And the grille...... the fuckin grille is the only original thought on this entire car and I dont really like the direction they took it in. Little dissappointed this is the fate of the next gen m4

JUST a quick question. You said that it’s 85% 4er but as we know the front of new M3 will get it form 4er, how the 4er concept is similar to new M3? My “sources” said that besides the grill it will hold the back lights form 4er too.

Can you somehow confirm that or just tell us please in % as with the 4er va concept

Damn all prior front ends look so dated now. Seeing them like this really highlights that it was time for a major change. At his current time and into the future no doubt I prefer the new concept.

If this is how BMW is looking... it breaks my heart to say this but I won't buy any BMW with that look. Guess I'll have collect BMWs up to 2019 models.

Lol calm down this wasn't an honest critique. It's just me shitting on BMW because I don't like the design.

Someone mentioned that this design begs for some seriously potent performance and I agree with that. The air intakes under the headlights remind me of this:
