Thanks for the info, its about what i expected for the 2.0 petrol. How many charges would you say you would have done in the 1st 1250 miles?

My wife is Polish, and we go there for Christmas most years. We prefer the flexibility of driving as we can take more presents and have mobility when we are there to get around and visit her friends and family.

Got it. Most of the time we also using our car for Poland trips, for this same reasons. And my soon to be collected 330e also will be tested for Scotland and Poland trips (we have good friends in Peterhead).
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who doing this kind of trips.
All the best

The biggest issue on the long trips isn't the fuel consumption, but rather the small tank and limited range when you're not regularly charging. And when you're on the autobahn doing 100mph+ it's even worse! You end up filling up at are around the 250 mile mark, which means at least 3 fuel stops going from Southern England to Poland.

Thanks for that. I knew that tank isn't huge one, but the range of 250 is not what I expected to be honest. Good to know, and be prepared. What's about charging in Germany on the Autobahn stops? Is it possible? Never looked at that, as so far I had only diesel engines (long journey economy obviously).

I get about 350 miles to a tank at UK speeds. Charging at a services is a waste of time (literally, 4 hours for about 25 miles of range at slow highway speeds) on trips like that I'd be pleased with overall 40mpg (about what I got Manchester to South coast with a charge at each end).

It comes into its own on say 50 mile journeys. I can charge both ends of Leeds Manchester, and regularly get 90+ indicated both ways (no heating) or about 65 with the heating on.

If you want charge to 100% yes. That's correct. And I totally agree with you.
But for the long journeys we do few stops for food, and for general rest. Most of the time it is around hour or more. I do not think about full charge. Just charge by time given.

And, while it's more expensive to buy and run, my heart says I'd still prefer an M340i!
We dropped from a Mondeo hatch to the 330e and only once in 6 months have we had to use the roof box (for a family holiday abroad). Unless you have a need to transport bikes or something large it might be ok. My wife just packs smaller now! ;-)
