Got some coding options added to the car today including assisted driving view and lane change assist. Works really well.

Options added:

Video in motion

Video via USB

Rear camera Tow hitch view

Change idrive Startup Emblem to BMW M

Enable one touch front window close when when door opened

Enable Comfort Plus Mode

Enable Sports Plus Mode

Enable Comfort Plus Mode options in Eco Pro Individual

Auto Start Stop Remembers Last Setting Memory

Enable tyre pressure and temperature display

Enable one click 5 indicator blink option in Exterior Lighting setting

Modify ambient light colours add any R G B colour to interior colours

Lane change assistant ( vehicle requires 5AS Driving assistant package)

Nice! A few in there are something I definitely would want like Assisted Driving View, Vid in Motion, USB Vid, Start up Emblem(although I wish there was a M Performance logo), Start Stop Memory.

Have you noticed a difference with Comfort Plus & the RGB ambient lighting??

Yes noticed a difference with Comfort Plus and Sports Plus modes. The ambient lighting you can have changed to any colour you want. I changed Bronze to Ferrari Red and Lilac to Yellow. I kept the other colours the same.

I have Sport Plus already so knowing the difference that makes if C+ is as noticeable then that will for sure be on the list as will the colour change as the Wee One will love it, but not sure I'd do a pink even if it is possible

I also originally wanted the Alpina cluster but not sure I could get along with the clash of colour in Sport mode with blue stitching of the interior

Yes the Alpina cluster looks good as does the BMW M but I opted to keep the default as you don't see the colour changes when changing driving modes. I only opted for the M logo on the dash.

Thanks. Mine will be a company car so guess I will have to miss out on that! Just out of interest, roughly how much does the recoding cost and does a dealer have to do it (never had a BMW before!).

Hitmann999 may give you a cost.

Look under the coding section to see how it is done by Esys or Bimmercode. My understanding is that Esys can do a lot more but using the Bimmercode app is a great deal easier.

Dealers or BMW will not do coding.

Does the comfort + make the suspension softer (assuming you have adaptive) than standard comfort?

Read that too so I assume that is the case & I will wait until the Android Auto feature is made available before going ahead with coding.

Yes I have read that too. I guess it will depend on how often BMW update the software. I haven't had any over the air updates so far since owning the car.

I got my coding done by Zed Coding for £80. A really nice guy who explained all the options and then you just pick and choose what you want. All done remotely so Covid safe

Do you mean purely remote, without plugging anything like OBD2 dongle in your G20?

You need an OBD cable and windows laptop and wifi. He can remote in and do the rest.

Don't do the extra cold aircon. Its freezing and has no off button.

You need an OBD dongle, laptop, WiFi or mobile hotspot and Team Viewer software.
