Mine arrived in the Country mid-July, returned to work recently and due to collect 1st Sept - assume mine isn't affected by the issues.

Do you know when yours was due to arrive in UK?

Mine arrived early August - you should be ok as I believe it’s only some July builds

This might shed some light on the issue.

I’ve just emailed my dealer to see if my delivery due on the 2nd September is affected. If they provide any additional information I’ll post it here.

he recall affects 4,460 vehicles globally, with around 1,000 of these located in Germany. Deliveries of the models have also been put on hold.

Got to be unlucky then if yours is one of said vehicles, fingers crossed i guess!

If you put your VIN number into BMW check recall you can see if you have the code STOP020700

My dealer replied that my car is held pending a response from BMW about a fix. As the car has been sat at the dealer since 31st July awaiting the new reg for delivery on 2nd September it’s a bit frustrating if it’s going to sit there for weeks, initial order was 29th January so already a longish wait.

First world problem compared to lots of other things going on but still mildly irritating.

Was thinking should I have waited for the new reg for my car but I guess it really doesn't matter as I'm leasing it.

Thanks for the link wassap, my 330e, ordered in February, is being held pending a fix.
Does anyone know how easy it is to get at the affected part?

I had to wait as mine’s a company car and LeasePlan told the dealer to wait.

Not sure how easy the part is to access and also how difficult it is to fix. If it needs welding it might be a specialist task. I’m hoping mine is inspected and is OK.

My understanding is that at the moment they are waiting for BMW to investigate and come back with a solution!
I’m in the same boat as you - hoping it isn’t a long road ahead!

I’ve been told that the original list containing 4,000 odd vehicles, has now been revised to around 2,000 and mine is still one of them!

Informed last Tuesday when car was due to be delivered on Thursday.

Chased up yesterday and told they are still waiting for instructions from BMW.

Has anybody had anything from the dealer on timescale to resolve this?
All I’ve had is that they are awaiting further updates from BMW, nothing on what they need to do to resolve or any timescales!

I am under time pressure, hence chasing up my dealer every day. They still have no information though - even such basic one as when any update would be provided.

It is frustrating to read on-line that the root cause is known and straightforward to inspect, but at the same time not being able to get any date (not to mention the time frame for a potential fix). Days, weeks, months?

From the article quoted above it sounds like it could involve taking the car apart and tidying up the welds, or possibly just fitting some shielding.
Aside from pestering the dealer, I’m all out of ideas.

would be very interested when BMW eventually break cover with the solution and start informing the dealers, first to post an update......

I was told the fix info is expected to be available later next week.

I don't go that far as fixing potential issue - I am still at the inspection stage. From the original article https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...f-nicht-laden/

The inspection in the workshop takes around 30 minutes, another possible repair takes correspondingly longer.
