Let's have the non-believers go on record with their claims that the new 4/M3/M4 will not have large grills. Put your money where your mouth is.

I don't like cars with extremely large grilles because I believe they destroy what otherwise could be a nice design. There is no reason for them to be so large, except that designers seem to think they will make their automobiles more appealing to the public.
They include every recent Audi and Lexus. Lexus callls them "spindle" grilles, but to me they look more like a squashed hour glass. Unfortunately, BMW has joined them with the X7. Toyota also is among manufacturers featuring them and the supposedly classiest of their cars, the Avalon, now has the "honor" of having the largest and therefore most hideous grille of them all. If you see a car with a front end that looks like a whale with its mouth open, ready to eat everything in sight, it probably will be an Avalon. |

The grills on the new 4 series will be large, especially relative to the f32, but I don't think it will look like the most recent renders. I stand by that.

I don't think they're going that big but have yall seen the 1920 BMWs? They had large vertical grills so maybe they're paying homage to that....

When has the M3 departed that drastically from the 3 series design? Me doubts.

Remember that the M3/4 shares its front end with the 4 series. This will only be the second generation of four series which BMW has pledged to differentiate further from the 3er.

There are some people on this forum that acknowledged they've seen the design and that the rumors are true. We all hope it looks good, but I think you may be in denial if you don't think the grills will be big.

Not going to have huge grills. Will probably look similar to X2, or M8. The lower grill may have a similar pattern but will be separated out from the kidney grills by a body colored panel. Especially that M Next concepts showcase the M8 like grill, it is hard to believe there will be Audi/Lexus like grills. Put me down.
If I'm wrong, I'm gonna open my pockets and get a 911 s. Bmw loses, I win! Lol |

I think the grill will just look like 3 series. But BMW might have some crazy looking concept grill when they reveal the concept 4 series or the concept M3.
