I've discovered lots of nice things about my G20 but I realised yesterday that there's no rear wiper. First car I've had without a rear wiper for many years. How do you cope without it? I went out in the rain yesterday and couldn't see a thing out the back. I'd have happily paid extra for it if I'd known it didn't have one.

Not many sedans come with a rear wiper. Not trying to be an ass, but didn't you look at pictures of the 3 series before buying one? You would have known it didn't come with a rear wiper.

When I finish a drive the radio keeps playing after I walk away if I don't lock the door. (330i). Anybody know how long it stays on? Do I need to lock the doors to get it to stop or will she eventually shut down?

Yeah guess I missed that. It wouldn't have stopped me buying it but when they give you complicated (presumably expensive) technology like parking assist but don't bother with something as basic as a rear wiper it seems strange to me.

Don't remember ever seeing a sedan with a rear wiper... nor do I want to.

If I had a rear wiper I'd had gladly paid to remove that shit.

Same. It would be such an eyesore sticking out of the glass (couldn't be attached the trunk or it couldn't open).

Exactly lol. I've also never had the thought of needing to use a rear wiper when it rains, but maybe that's just me.

I think it's connected to the timer for your auto-off exterior lights (which the intervals can be changed). I haven't tried yet so I am just assuming.

If done properly it's no more an eyesore than your front wipers. My old Nissan 200SX S14a was a similar shape although it counted as a coupe. The rear wiper never spoiled the look and didn't stop the boot opening. The boot lid was very similar in size and movement. Your front wipers don't stop you opening the bonnet do they?

As far as not needing one when it's raining. Well you need one as much as you need a rear-view mirror that's all I'll say.

Mine does sometimes as well. I think it's when I'm listening to music through Apple CarPlay that it doesn't turn off when I open the door (the music stops playing but the screens stay on until I lock the doors).

Perhaps they should offer it as a low-cost option then. In Britain it rains a lot so imho it's needed, and I don't think a wiper blade is any uglier than the wiper blades on any other car that has one (which is a lot of cars). Honestly do you not want to see out the back? That's why you have a rear window.
